Creepy Or Cool: The Self-Painting Dress

No, this is not a costume left over from “The Fifth Element.” It’s a project called Pseudomorphs, created by Dutch designer Anouk Wipprecht. The concept: a self-painting dress that brings together art, fashion and technology. The futuristic-looking felt garment is hooked up to stores of paint, which are fed through tubes by a mechanical system. As the paint disperses through the fabric, it creates a unique design. “Project Runway”: It’s Better With Toddlers

The “Project Runway” crew is a lot less irascible when they’re two feet tall and pooping in their Pull-Ups. Every episode of “Project Runway” should be done with toddlers, damn it. But I have one problem: Where’s baby Nina Garcia?! Maybe she’s off making bitchy comments on the potty. [Babelgum] Keep reading »

Trapped Miner Yonni Barrios Emerges From Hole And Into The Warm Embrace Of His Mistress

It’s a Lifetime movie waiting to happen: “The Miner’s Mistress”! When Chilean miner Yonni Barrios (aka, miner #21 or Johnny Barrios) emerged from a hole in the ground where he has been living for the past two months, his wife was not there to meet him. Marta Salinas told the reporters she would neither be attending the rescue, nor continuing her marriage, after she learned a woman — who showed up to Yonni’s vigils crying and calling out his name — was actually his lover. Instead, the Tiger Woods of the Chilean miner set breathed his first breath of fresh air with his mistress Susana Valenzuela at his side, who kissed him and sobbed. I say cast Gael Garcia Bernal as the long-suffering husband and Eva Longoria as the sexy mistress. Because that’s exactly what these people look like in real life, as you can see. J-Woww’s New Job: Professional Wrestler

J-Woww has found her calling in life—female wrestler. She has signed on to appear on Spike TV’s “TNA Impact.” For her first episode, she fights a girl sporting a Snooki spoof. Two things of note: did the announcer really call J-Woww “strawberry blonde”? And how annoying is the woman J-Woww’s fighting? Though “J-Coww” is a really funny put-down. [BuzzFeed] Keep reading »

We Like This Wes Anderson And Roman Coppola Directed Stella Artois Commercial

Young auteurs everywhere violently dislike (read: envy) directors Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola, and surely this new commercial for Stella Artois beer directed by both will make their filmmaker heads explode. The premise is pretty sly. A dashing dude brings home a cute girl to whom he shows off his super cool bachelor pad. Only everything goes terribly wrong when he leaves her alone, and she gets her hand on his remote controller. We like it all, but the ending. Girls are better than beer. Keep reading »

“Hellcats” Cram Session: Cheerleaders Playing Football?

Bust out your pom-poms, ’cause tonight is “Hellcats” night! Since The Frisky’s own Kate Torgovnick happens to be an expert on college cheerleading—after all, the show is based on her book CHEER!: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders—every Wednesday we have her sound off on how the show stacks up to reality.

Tonight on “Hellcats,” Savannah, Marti, Alice and the crew throw on their sweats (finally, some ample clothing), smear on some eye black, and play flag football against their arch nemeses on Lancer campus—the women’s volleyball team.

I know what you’re thinking—cheerleaders playing football? But you’ll be surprised to know that this plot line is very real. Keep reading »
