Kanye West Flashes His New Diamond And Gold Grin

The “Kanye West Is A Talented, But Idiotic Douche” file is getting full! Yesterday, the rapper appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ show and proudly showed off his new blingin’ smile. Apparently, that ain’t no temporary grill — Kanye claims to have had his bottom row of teeth removed and replaced with diamond and gold implants because that’s “what rock stars are supposed to do.” Dude, you do know that pricey grin will still get food stuck in it from time to time, right? Colbert Tells “The View” To Leave “Papa Bear” Alone

The women of “The View” definitely learned one thing from Stephen Colbert‘s visit yesterday: Don’t mess with Papa Bear. That’s Colbert’s nickname for Bill O’Reilly. In a show of solidarity with O’Reilly, Colbert pretended to walk off the set of “The View” yesterday during his segment. Colbert’s gesture was in reference to O’Reilly’s controversial “View” visit last week, where both Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar walked off set in the midst of O’Reilly’s interview. Hip Kids: P.S. 22 Chorus Sings MGMT’s “Kids”

The famous P.S. 22 Chorus is back, this time covering the song “Kids” by hipster band MGMT. We love how this young team continues to pick the most surprising songs to sing! Check out how enthusiastically these little singers get into the indie beat. Although we’re not really sure what’s up with the fist pump. Whatever! [YouTube] Keep reading »

Today’s Lady News: Hillary Clinton Posts An “It Gets Better” Video

  • Secretary of State Hillary Clinton filmed an “It Gets Better” video in light of recent suicides by LGBT teens. Telling gay young adults “it gets better” might pack more of a punch if she actually supported gay marriage. But the sentiment, albeit hypocritical, is appreciated. [YouTube]
  • Sorry, European ladies, no additional maternity leave for you. Britain is trying to block new European Union laws that would give women more maternity-related benefits. The European Parliament would like to increase paid maternity leave from 14 to 20 weeks, but U.K. pols say it will hurt small businesses and cause employers to not hire pregnant women or women of childbearing age. [Telegraph UK]
  • Two cartoons published in the University of Connecticut’s student newspaper are under fire for being offensive and, frankly, unfunny. One shows a man tossing a diamond ring into a bedroom while a desperate-looking woman chases after it, implying a woman will do anything to get married. And the other says, “Forget sugar and spice and everything nice. Try crabs, scabs and everything viral. That’s what girls are really made of.” Ha ha? [CTnow.com]

Sarah Palin Meets A Real Mama Grizzly On “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”

Mama grizzlies stick together. While Sarah Palin films her TLC reality show, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” with Todd, Piper and her niece, McKinley, a real-life mama bear and her cubs emerge from the woods to catch salmon. But then another bear — clearly a Democrat — comes along and mama bear lays a fuzzy smackdown. “I love watching these mama bears,” Sarah says. “What I see in that is what a mom would do, too. Anything and everything, laying down her life for her kids.”

Next on “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”? On a visit to the Wasilla dog pound, Sarah is charmed by an actual pitbull in lipstick. [Mediaite] Keep reading »

Happy Pinktober, I Mean, October!

Pinktober — I mean, October — has been taken over as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a worthy cause that’s opportunistically hijacked to promote everything for 31 days straight. Why, just this morning I received a press release from HerCampus.com about essays that six women wrote about their bras sizes “in honor” of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Sorry, what does an essay about your 36DD tatas have to do with “honoring” breast cancer again? I’m not the only one skeptical of consumer pink-washing during “Pinktober” … Keep reading »
