Seriously, I heart the New Kids, but their performance on The Today Show was a travesty of epic proportions. I mean, they never could sing, but now that they are out of practice, they really, really can’t sing. Especially Jordan. What the hell happened to him? And Joey Mac! I would shed a tear if I wasn’t so mortified for them. Keep reading »
On Showtime’s This American Life, NPR’s Robert Krulwich and his wife tell the same story but disagree on a few key factors, including whether Robert was actually present when his wife had an encounter with Jackie Onassis. Sometimes couples disagreeing can be cute, especially when they’re represented in cartoon form. My favorite part might be when they go from the present to a flashback and lose about 20 pounds off their round behinds. [This American Life via MentalFloss.com] Keep reading »
Oh Woody Allen, you perv. The director’s newest project, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, stars his current muse, Scarlett Johansson, alongside Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. By the looks of the new trailer, the film features much, much hotness, including a kiss between Johansson and Cruz. Let’s hope this movie is actually good. Keep reading »
Ahh, spring. Flowers, pollen, allergies, margaritas, tanning, blockbuster movies, dresses, flip-flops, fornicating…yes, fornicating. Is it true people are hornier in the spring? We sent our lovely Lori out to investigate. Keep reading »
So after the final tribal council is filmed, the Survivor final two join the other castaways at Ponderosa, the location where they all have to hide out until the show is finished and they head home. CBS filmed a lot of the action this season at Ponderosa and posted the footage online. After the final two joined them, Ozzy finally got a chance to makeout with Amanda. A lot. Keep reading »
Rihanna’s new single “Take A Bow” is not a song you’re going to be dancing to — unless you’re in seventh grade and find yourself swaying back and forth awkwardly with a scrawny tween boy. But Rihanna is so lovable and lovely that Nathan and I couldn’t resist watching the song’s video together. We agree that she’s fierce but want different things from her. Me? Well, I want to be her.
Nathan: Why is she looking at her nails?
Catherine: Her nails are too long. Like old lady nails. Keep reading »
I think we all know by now that The Hills is a semi-scripted reality TV show. Yes, the people are real. Yes, the cameras follow them through the course of their real life. But MTV also creates a storyline and manipulates the real life goings on to meet their storyline’s needs. This season, the story centered around “feminist hero” Heidi, as she took time away from her douchebag boyfriend Spencer so she could focus on herself and her career. On last night’s season finale, MTV basically told the viewers that Heidi had a decision to make between two very different choices — focus solely on her career as a event planner for Brent Bolthouse Productions in Las Vegas or go home with Spencer without even giving her boss notice. Guess which she chose?

No, seriously, that’s what Matt, The Bachelor, calls Shayne. Do I suck for thinking that’s kind of cute? Anyway, for once in the entire history of The Bach, I was actually surprised by the finale. Chelsea is the kind of girl who ALWAYS wins this show — the sweet, best friend-type with whom the Bach has a slow build to romance. As much as I was rooting for her, I wasn’t expecting my beloved Shayne to win. But she did! I have no clue whether she and Matt can actually make this relationship last, but I really am kind of psyched Shayne won. She was more than meets the eye that one, which is a lot to expect from the daughter of Lorenzo Lamas. Keep reading »
One of the upcoming shows getting lots of buzz is Swingtown on CBS — I don’t think it has an official release date yet, but I’m psyched. The show centers around couples in the 1970′s who are into swinging — i.e. partner swapping. How did a show like this end up on CBS? It is produced by the same director behind HBO juggernauts Big Love and Rome and you would think that a show so much about, you know, sex, would be better suited for a network that allows nudity. But producer Mike Kelley says, “I actually think the shackles of having to show more explicit things every week to week to week on cable would have been far more constricting.” Uh, yeah. Whatever, we’ll be watching…and wishing for some nipple, I’m sure. [NY Times via Boinkology] Keep reading »
GodTube is so awesome. A sin-free alternative to YouTube, GodTube has all sorts of Christian videos, including ones that teach sinners lessons. Like this guy, who gets busted watching dirty, disgusting porn by Jesus Christ himself! Isn’t it kind of blasphemous to suggest that Jesus has a mullet? Pretty sure he’d like to be thought of as more stylish than that. [GodTube] Keep reading »
