If Foursquare Was For Sex

Last summer, when I was just starting to dabble with Foursquare, the social networking app that let’s you “check in” to various locations, achieving badges and Mayorships and other ridiculous intangible rewards, I came up with a genius idea. (Or I thought it was anyway.) I added a new location, knowing it didn’t already exist in Foursquare’s expansive list of places. “Ryan Gosling’s Pants,” I typed, laughing at my own hilariousness. And then I checked in. Two check-ins later, I was officially the Mayor of Ryan Gosling’s Pants. It felt so good, I almost craved a post-coital cigarette. Maybe that’s why this College Humor-produced video about an app called F**ksquare appeals to me. (NSFW due to some salty language and implied sexual activity.) [College Humor] Keep reading »

Watch Justin Bieber’s Dead-On Impersonation Of Barack Obama

When he’s not busy discussing abortion, rape, and socialized medicine with Rolling Stone, Justin Bieber is mastering impressions. The Bieb’s impression of Barack Obama on Conan totally blows Fred Armisen‘s impression of the president on “Saturday Night Live” out of the water. (Not that that‘s hard.) Pretty good for a Canadian. On-Air Penis Size Joke = A Real Life “Anchorman” Moment

Meet Belinda Heggen, my new hero. During an on-air broadcast about an Australian soccer player and a little urn he received as an honor, Belinda cracked a joke about her co-anchor’s dick size. I love how she says this with a complete straight face — get this woman a raise! [Salon via The Daily What] Keep reading »

Hellcats Cram Session: Cheerleading Squad Scandals

Bust out your pom-poms, ‘cause tonight is “Hellcats” night! Since The Frisky’s own Kate Torgovnick happens to be an expert on college cheerleading—after all, the show is based on her book, CHEER!: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders—every Tuesday we have her sound off on how the show stacks up to reality.

The preview for this week’s “Hellcats” promises “a scandal so big, it could take down the Hellcats.” Cheerleading scandals of the personal variety seem to crop up on a semi-regular basis, generally involving a racy photo of a scantily clad cheerleader making its way around the internet. But what about team scandals? Is there anything a team can do to cause a ruckus in the cheer world?

Certainly. Keep reading »

Lady Gaga On The “Born This Way” And “Express Yourself” Parallels

Ever since the Grammys, when Lady Gaga debuted “Born This Way” live, people have been commenting on how the track sounds a whole lot like Madonna‘s “Express Yourself”—it has a similar spoken-word intro and the same sentiment, not to mention that Gaga’s long ponytail for the performance was very Blonde Ambition. (Nevermind the fact that, when accepting her award that night, Gaga said she wrote the song with Whitney Houston in mind — random!) Last night, Gaga talked to Jay Leno about the controversy and got a little verklempt when she talked about Madonna. She said, looking close to tears, “There is really no one that is a more adoring or loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally.” She went on to say that Madonna’s camp called to say they love the song. So, case closed? [Gossip Cop] Keep reading »
