Amy Poehler Does Her Best Paula Abdul

Amy Poehler visits “Inside the Actor’s Studio” tonight at 7 p.m. On the show, James Lipton gets Amy to do her Paula Abdul impression. Her imitation of the ex-”American Idol” judge is exactly like Paula’s real-life wacky and nonsensical way of talking, and we’re pretty sure there weren’t any muscle relaxers involved. Check it out in the above video, starting about one minute in. Keep reading »

Would You Like To Try … Urin?

What is this? I don’t know. I don’t know if I even want to know. At first, I thought it was an ad for a real or fake product. (You never know, these days.) A perfume. Called … Urin. Then, I thought it was a music video. Which I guess it is. By Dragonette. (Who, right?) In any case, suffice it to say, I am not going to rush out and by a bottle of Urin any time soon. Unless, you know, everybody else does. Keep reading »

Lula Mag’s “Spell” Film Is A Quick Daydream During A Ho-Hum Day

/> value="true" />

I’ve been feeling rather blah all week because the weather in NYC has once again turned cloudy and breezy, and I’ve been waking at 3 a.m. each morning, unable to fall asleep again for at least an hour and a half. So as you can guess, I’ve been tired. That was until I saw this movie by Lula magazine and Topshop to celebrate the launch of the mag’s new site. Lula, with style guru Leith Clark at the helm, is described by Topshop as: “a dreamscape of beautiful imagery and inspiring fashion, topped off with some flowers and a cupcake.” Basically, if the Secret Garden were a real place, Lula is what the teenaged heroine would read. “Spell” also captures the feeling of the secret world we all have in our minds that can save us from a mundane and tiring day. [Topshop]

Check out some Lula-approved Topshop items after jump, so you can own a little bit of the dreamscape too. Keep reading »

“The Tyra Show” Allegedly Coached A Guest To Say Racist Things

Meet Vecente. He was a guest on “The Tyra Show” for the judgment day episode and said some really hateful and hurtful things about another guest because the guest has dark skin. As you can see from the video above, Vecente makes some statements that are really infuriating, but he reportedly claims the show’s producers and Tyra told him what kind of character he was supposed to portray. He also says the talk show is scripted. Vecente says his racist, politically incorrect statements were only for television purposes. [Media Takeout]

He could be lying as a result of the backlash he’s received since his appearance aired, but I’m pretty sure I’ve caught “The Tyra Show” using an actor as a guest at least once. I watched an episode from the first season, I believe, in which this guy who Tyra said was a lawyer in real life was supposed to pretend to be a stalker so a woman could learn not to trust men she meets just because they look wealthy. A few hours after the episode ended, I saw the same guy in a commercial for something that slips my mind. He was an actor and the commercial continued to air after that episode. Keep reading »

Trailer Park: “Love Happens,” “Cloudy With A Chance…,” “Jennifer’s Body,” “The Informant!”

TGIF ladies! Time to unwind from the hectic work week with a bottle glass of wine and some “me” time. And what better way to do that than to disappear into a movie theater? This week your every fantasy can be realized, whether it involves inventing elaborate machines like in “Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs,” going cannibalistic on hotties in “Jennifer’s Body,” being a super spy like “The Informant!” or just falling in love because, apparently, “Love Happens,” though I have my doubts about that statement. “Save The Boobs” Is A Cause That Excites Everyone

Our friends at Rethink Breast Cancer are always trying to think of new, creative ways to get young women involved in breast cancer prevention, treatment, and activism. Hence this new “Save the Boobs” public service announcement that’s making its way across the web. How glad are you that they picked a woman with real boobs for this? I swear, people (ahem, men) are starting to forget what they look like. Oh, and that BoobyBall thing they mention at the end? That’s Rethink’s annual fundraiser, which has raised half a million dollars since it started in 2002. This year, it’ll be held on a cruiseship on October 2nd. If you’re in Toronto, get tickets here. If you’re not, maybe you have a great idea that could qualify you for a Booby Innovation Grant. They give out up to $60K for innovative breast cancer-related projects. [Rethink] Keep reading »
