Britney Spears‘ Femme Fatale was a little bit of a letdown. The videos just weren’t what we’d hoped for and her live performances were oddly stiff. But BritBrit is heading on tour this summer and now that she has had more rehearsal time under her belt, perhaps she’ll redeem herself? Britney, at least, is super excited for the tour. In this video, which she posted on her website, she checks out the stage for the first time. “Yeah! Yeah,” she squeals. “I love it. Thank you!” I think it’s sweet how in awe she is here. And it does look pretty dope—especially with all that lightening imagery. Keep reading »
This Dutch woman loves her Facebook friends so much that she decided to get color photos of all 152 of them tattooed on her arm. What an innovative idea! Now she will have her entire social network with her wherever she goes. But on the other hand, one of them may unfriend her. Or change their profile photo. Or get old. Or decide Facebook is stupid. What happens then? [Flavorwire]
Update: You’ll be relieved to know that no one is really crazy enough to tattoo 152 Facebook friends on her arm. This video was a big, fat hoax. The ink you see is called a “transfer tattoo.” It washes off in a couple of days. [The Daily What]Keep reading »
Wendy Williams, host of GSN’s new show “Love Triangle,” has a huge ass disco ball ring and the opinions to match. For instance, in this segment of “Love It Or Leave It,” the talk show queen declares that saving yourself for marriage is one of the most “impractical” things a woman can do. Why? Watch the video to find out and then tell us whether you agree in the comments!
To make a long story out of a short story — or perhaps the other way around — “So You Think You Can Dance” may have stumbled upon The Beatles scandal of the century at their Utah auditions. I couldn’t sleep last night and decided to catch up on a little “SYTYCD” — reality TV has the same effects on me as a glass of warm milk — and I caught contestant Brittany Morgan Starr, who revealed a big secret. Ringo Starr (of the famed band The Beatles, perhaps you’ve heard of them) is her father. Brittany claimed he is in permanent hiding while another man impersonates him in the public eye. I know, so wonderfully bizarre. According to Brittany, her dad, Ringo Starr (real name: Richard Starkey), signed a contract to have another man take his identity as Ringo Starr after John Lennon was shot. And bless FOX for taking us to meet her pops, the “real” Ringo. He turned out to be a toothless man with no discernible British accent in a Sgt. costume. Somehow, my gut tells me delusion runs in the family. At least judging from Brittany’s dance skills. These kinds of segments are exactly why I watch reality TV before bed. Keep reading »
T-minus 19 days until the season premiere of “True Blood.” Luckily, HBO isn’t going to leave us fiending for that long. They’ve now released the first six minutes of the premiere episode (an extra three minutes on top of what we posted last week!). What to expect: fairies, forbidden glowing fruit, Sookie’s grandfather, and an evil fairy plot. Sookie’s best line to her fairy godmother: “If your job is to look after me, can I just say … you suck.” Keep reading »
This weekend, I had a bookcase to assemble. So I turned on the television hoping to find something fun and mindless to watch while I tried to decipher Ikea assembly instructions. I am normally very anti-wedding shows—I don’t like how they play into the fairytale of weddings and put all the focus on spending an extravagant amount on one day rather than on working hard to make a relationship work every day. But for some reason, I decided the thing to watch was a marathon of “Say Yes To The Dress: Big Bliss.” And I would now like to declare this my new favorite guilty pleasure show.
The series follows the wedding dress consultants of Kleinfeld’s boutique, which has one of the largest collections of plus-sized wedding dresses out there, as they help brides—sizes 16 through 30—find the perfect wedding dress. So why am I so obsessed with this show? Keep reading »
