Last night President Obama spoke at an LGBT rights fundraiser in New York City, which is noteworthy because the New York state Senate is currently on the precipice of legalizing gay marriage. In his speech, Obama addressed gay and lesbians‘ fight for equal rights and said it is up to each individual state to do the right thing. “New York is doing exactly what democracies are supposed to do: there’s a debate, a deliberation, about what it means to treat people fairly in the eyes of the law,” he said. Back in April, we told you that Heidi Montag, Jake Pavelka, and Danielle Staub would be teaming up for a new reality show. And now, we finally have the details of what this show will be—VH1′s “Famous Food.” Oh, but the series has even more fascinating characters—Ashley Dupre (i.e. Eliot Spitzer’s favorite call girl), Vincent Pastore (of “The Sopranos”) and two members of Three 6 Mafia, you know, since it’s hard out there for a pimp. Together these seven will be … opening a restaurant on the Sunset Strip with the help of the famed Dolce Group. One lucky winner will become an actual partner in the venture.
The first clip of the show has been released, and it focuses on Heidi (actually, so does the second). It leads me to ask many questions… Keep reading »
One of the more cuckoo claims of anti-abortion extremists is that abortion is all about “black genocide.” You know, Americans want abortion legal mostly so we can cut down on the black population or something. That is the flawless logic behind these, these and these billboards targeted at black people in urban hubs like New York City and Atlanta. The latest WTF-ery is a new movie called “Gates Of Hell” about … wait for it … black men who hunt down abortion providers as “payback” for the “genocide.” Keep reading »
I’m all about bitches who holla back at street harassment. But even cooler? When ESPN reporter Erin Andrews
was caught on a camera phone telling off
a “fan” in the stands who yelled at her as she stood on the sidelines, “I’m gonna watch your video tomorrow.” He was referencing, of course, the creepy nude videos
filmed through hotel room peepholes by a stalker
last year. Andrews’ eyebrows rose straight up and she walked over to the seats to ask him what he just said. The guy didn’t respond. “If you are going to be cool enough to say that, man up to it,” she shot back, turned around and walked away. I hope that jerk melted into a puddle of embarrassment while all his buddies laugh at him. You go, girl! Erin Andrews, 1. Cat-calling loser, 0. [Huffington Post

Jack Nicholson was spine-tingling nasty as mobster Frank Costello in Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed.” The character was, of course, based on a real life dude—James “Whitey” Bulger, the mobster turned informant turned fugitive who has been on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List for the past 16 years. Yesterday, Bulger was finally arrested, along with his longtime girlfriend Catherine Greig. They are currently being held in a California jail and both will have their first appearance in court today. Bulger is charged with 19 murders, while Greig will most likely face charges of harboring a fugitive.
So, how was Bulger found after so many years on the lam? Because of Greig’s beauty parlor habit. Keep reading »
