Christina Aguilera Gets The Opposite Of Dirrty On “Project Runway”

Where do starlets go when their career needs a boost? Apparently, “Project Runway.” Lindsay Lohan appeared as a guest judge on the show earlier in the season, and last night Christina Aguilera took her turn. Seeing her on the episode, sporting some serious bangs, reminded me why she’s been the pop star who’s totally fallen off the radar, even though she has the best voice. The girl is too darn nice! Would Michael Jackson Tell A&E’s Reality Show To Beat It?

Michael Jackson did his best to shield his three children, Prince, Paris, and Blanket, from prying eyes and the media, even when dangling an infant Blanket over a balcony railing. When he was alive they often wore scarves or masks in public. So, I wonder how he would feel about his children appearing in an upcoming A&E reality show, the latest Jackson family sideshow act. Is TV Helping To De-Stigmatize Mental Illness?

It’s the time of year when production companies start working on pilots for shows they hope will be picked up to air next year. One such show is “The Quickening,” which will be written by the awesome Jennifer Salt of “Nip/Tuck” and will star the lovely Radha Mitchell as a bipolar detective whose medication stabilizes her mood swings but damages her otherwise brilliant talent for solving the crime. I gotta say that, lately, I’m noticing a lot of shows where the protagonist struggles with mental illness, and I think it’s pretty amazing since it can help people understand and be more accepting of the wide variety of mental illnesses out there. Jake The Pilot To Be The New “Bachelor”

Hey “Bachelor” fans, in case you weren’t one of the 15 or 20 people who watched the “Dancing With The Stars” results show last night, you may have missed the announcement that ABC has selected jilted Jake the Pilot™ as the new Bachelor. You may remember Jake from last season’s “Bachelorette” — although you’d certainly be excused if you didn’t — as the boring bachelor Jillian deemed “too perfect.” She gave him the boot mid-season, but he came back a week or two later dressed in his Pilot’s best to warn Jillian about dangers of cheatin’ Wes. Noble, maybe. Dull as a meatloaf dinner, definitely. What about Reid?? God, even dorky Kpytok-whatever-the-hell-his-name-was would have been a more interesting choice. Oh well, maybe this is the season I finally find a hobby to occupy my Monday nights (I’ve been thinking about flamenco class!). What about you? Will you be watching when the “Bachelor” debuts in January? [via Popwatch]

NBC Takes The “Glee” Out Of Thanksgiving Day Parade

Could network wars be responsible for crushing the hearts of Gleeks, “Glee” fans, across America? The popular Fox show won’t be rolling down Central Park West this November, as NBC has reportedly put the kibosh on their performance plans at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

According to an internal Fox memo, the network and Macy’s were “already discussing wardrobe and choreography” and picking out a float for the “Glee” cast to ride on when the store told them the offer would have to be rescinded because “it did not want the Fox series…getting a big fat plug on NBC’s parade broadcast,” according to The Washington Post. A network insider claims the department store had worked out the deal before consulting NBC. Keep reading »

Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week Of October 12th 2009

Over the past few weeks, there’s been so much new TV and so little time. But now that we’ve reached mid-October, it’s time to settle in and get comfortable with your old favorites. This week brings the season premieres of “30 Rock,” “Nip/Tuck,” and “Ugly Betty.” Oh, but there are a few new things, too. You definitely won’t want to miss DJ AM’s “Gone Too Far,” which promises to be “Intervention” turned up a few notches. Oh, and “The Newlywed Game” welcomes its first gay couple. Keep reading »

Kater Gordon, The 27-Year-Old Emmy-Winning “Mad Men” Writer, Gets Fired

About three weeks ago, 27-year-old “Mad Men” scribe Kater Gordon won an Emmy for the episode “Meditations in an Emergency,” which you know as the one where Betty Draper does the deed with some dude in the women’s powder room of a Manhattan bar. Kater was kind of like Weiner’s personal Peggy Olson. She started off babysitting his kids, but after the two started talking television, he hired her as his personal assistant. During season one of “Mad Men,” she became his writer’s assistant and by the end of season two was given the opportunity to co-write the season finale. For season three, she was promoted to full-fledged staff writer. But, surprise, Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Kater has been fired. “We think [Kater's] done a great job, particularly for someone whose career has progressed so quickly,” a show insider told Finke. “Now, however, Matt has reluctantly decided that their relationship has reached its full potential. There’s absolutely no doubt that Kater will continue to have unprecedented success in her career as she spreads her wings.” [Deadline] Keep reading »

If “HIMYM”‘s Barney Can Do It: Other TV Characters I Want To Find Love

I’ve been obsessively watching “How I Met Your Mother” after discovering it late (super late) in the third season. Actually, I let it slip that I wasn’t watching it and then got harangued by everyone I knew for not knowing what it meant to be the married “Lily” of the group. Since then, I’ve been loving Neil Patrick Harris‘ bad Barney. His Lothario-dude, who would be a creepy, sadistic psychopath in real life, is adorable on TV as he wham-bam-thank-you-ma’ams his way through the ladies of New York. Except, this season he is adorable in a brand-new way. He’s found love with Robin, an uncomfortable, wince-inducing, awesome, making-out and having-googly-eyed-Sunday-brunch kind of love. And I love that he’s in love. Which got me thinking about all the other fictional characters that I’ve wanted to watch fall in love. Or at least get kissed. Keep reading »
