Everything Halloween!
Check out The Frisky's Halloween Guide! Read More »

It’s a scary world out there for us ladies sometimes. That’s why I love a good horror movie for contained fear and excitement. There’s nothing like sitting down in the darkened theater for two hours of sensory overload and raw adrenaline, only to leave when it’s all done in one piece. It’s like paying $12 for two hours of therapy. Keep reading »

10 Ladies Who Have Cross-Dressed For Roles

Believe it or not, this stately gentleman is actually Glenn Close. This photo is from her new film, “Albert Nobbs,” the story of an Englishwoman in the 1800s who dressed as a man to get a job as a butler. She’s been working on making this passion project a reality for the last 10 years. Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Mia Wasikowska and Aaron Johnson also star. Sounds like an all-star cast and by the looks of the trailer (check it out here) the film looks to be worthy of their talent. [Hollywood Reporter]

Romy & Michelle Rock Dresses Made From Post-It Notes

It’s been almost 15 years since the release of  “Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion,” starring Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino. And if you’ll remember, Post-It Notes played a pivotal role in the plot of the film (the girls claimed they invented the handy note-writing tools). So to commemorate the classic 1997 comedy, Entertainment Weekly designed special dresses made out of multi-colored Post-Its. Rather glamorous, wouldn’t you say? [Entertainment Weekly]

Charlize Theron in Young Adult photo

Say what you will about the choices Diablo Cody has made as a result of her fame from “Juno,” but the woman takes risks — huge risks — with what she puts out there. (That campy Megan Fox/Amanda Seyfried horror movie that flopped? Exactly.) Her newest movie coming out this holiday season is called “Young Adult” and stars Charlize Theron as a 30-something woman who heads back to her hometown looking for her ex, who is married with a new baby. I think you’ll agree with me after watching this trailer that this film is going to be risky. Keep reading »

A First Look At “The Raven,” The Edgar Allan Poe Movie

A Poe TV Show?
Apparently, a Poe TV show is in the works, too. Read More »

I, like everyone else who has read “The Telltale Heart” and “The Masque of the Red Death,” am obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe. And yet, I’ve been a little apprehensive about the fact that Relativity Media is making a movie called “The Raven,” about the classic American author. I had assumed it would be a traditional biopic, but now that I see the trailer, it clearly isn’t. Nope, it’s a thriller that imagines what would have happened if a serial killer in the 1800s had been so inspired by Poe’s stories that he started recreating them. Poe—played by adorable John Cusack—is recruited by a police detective to help him solve the crimes. I don’t know if I love the concept, but I’m at least sold on plunking down $12 to see it. You?
