I’ve always thought the ads for cotton were nicely done, but this new one blows away all past commercials for the fabric of our lives. In it, Zooey Deschanel prances through her day, performing, writing a song, checking out a flea market, browsing through records, and trying on various adorable outfits made of cotton.
When other starlets appear in commercials or put their names on products, we think of them as sellouts, i.e., Lindsay and her line of hosiery. Zooey, on the other hand, has managed to use her image to make money without damaging her reputation. In fact, we love her even more for it! And cotton isn’t the only thing she’s selling. Zooey recently launched a mini-line of sunglasses with Oliver Peoples. Other celebrities should follow her classy example. Hi, guys. So, this is my favorite movie: “500 Days Of Summer.” I haven’t actually seen it yet, but the trailer is above, and honestly if it doesn’t turn out to be my favorite movie, I will be super surprised. Also, can I please walk into an elevator and meet someone like Joseph Gordon Levitt, please? Thanks. Keep reading »
One of our favorite actresses and singers, Zooey Deschanel, is engaged to singer Ben Gibbard, of the band Death Cab For Cutie. We had no idea they were dating, but we think this is an adorable match. May there be a duet in sight?! [Us Weekly] Keep reading »
I’m really excited about all the classic movies coming on Turner Classic Movies on Sunday. It’s been ages since I watched “Little Women.” The Sci-Fi channel is re-airing “Tin Man” on Sunday, in case you missed it last year. Zooey Deschanel plays Dorothy in this made-for-TV adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz.” Also, I’m excited about “70′s Fever” on the History channel because I swear I was born in the wrong time. Studio 54, here I come. Oh, but hold the cocaine. Keep reading »
What would you do without your girl friends and sisters? If it weren’t for them, you probably wouldn’t know about threading as a form of hair removal, would never have received an invitation to Gilt Groupe, and would have to watch “The Notebook” DVD alone every time. You better get your girls some good stuff this year…

Ever since Annika got me addicted (like, crack addicted) to “True Blood”, I’ve been obsessing about the fact that Lizzy Caplan looks exactly like Zooey Deschanel. Do the similarities extend further than just looks? Well, here’s a hint — I’d like to be besties with both of them. More info, after the jump… Keep reading »

Summer is in the air, a time of year to get in touch with your softer side — softer hairstyles (my favorite being soft, loose, beachy-waves), softer makeup, softer colors, and softer silhouettes. While my personal style is kind of on the edgy/eclectic side, I have a friend who seldom navigates away from flirty, ultra-femme styles. She rocks this look everywhere, from formal dates, to casual dates, from upscale bars to seedy, dive bars, this gal loves to embrace her femininity. This style is also a favorite of one of my favorite fashion trend-setters, Zooey Deschanel (one half of Frisky favorite, She & Him), who appropriately graces the cover of Lucky‘s July issue in a sweet floaty number, a style she’s loved for as long as she can remember.
