I’ve always thought the ads for cotton were nicely done, but this new one blows away all past commercials for the fabric of our lives. In it, Zooey Deschanel prances through her day, performing, writing a song, checking out a flea market, browsing through records, and trying on various adorable outfits made of cotton.
When other starlets appear in commercials or put their names on products, we think of them as sellouts, i.e., Lindsay and her line of hosiery. Zooey, on the other hand, has managed to use her image to make money without damaging her reputation. In fact, we love her even more for it! And cotton isn’t the only thing she’s selling.
