Zach Galifianakis Lights Up On Joint On Live TV
Last week, while watching reruns of “Bored to Death,” I watched Zach Galifianakis smoke a lot of pot. Or more accurately, act like he was smoking a lot of pot. But then he smoked it for real on “Real Time with Bill Maher.” Zach lit up a joint while the show was discussing Proposition 19—a bill in California that would allow people over the age of 21 to possess an ounce of marijuana. The bill, which would allow the state to regulate and tax pot, will most likely be defeated in the election tomorrow. Zach waved the joint in front of his fellow commentators faces, at which point Bill groaned, “Oh god.” In other words, it seemed pretty real. So—brilliant move by Zach? Or totally irresponsible? Robert Downey, Jr. recently opened his big mouth on accident, and no, it wasn’t to tell me he loves me, sigh. Earlier this week, we told you that Mel Gibson‘s camp had come up with a kind of brilliant plan to get the despicable actor back into the public’s good graces: a cameo in “The Hangover 2.” Mel was set to play a tattoo artist in the flick, but the appearance has now been nixed. The movie’s director, Todd Phillips, explains, “I thought Mel would have been great in the movie… But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”

I. told. you. so. Zach Galifianakis was SOLID GOLD as the host of “Saturday Night Live” last night, from the minute he walked on set during his opening monologue. The only thing to complain about — there wasn’t enough of him. While normally I’m happy to see hosts make minor appearances in plenty of the skits, Zach could have held his own against any of “SNL”‘s regular cast members. Over the weekend I had a dream about Zach Galifianakis that gave me a tingle in my lower parts. Ever since, it’s been hard to think of anything else.
