It looks like the upcoming “Wonder Woman” TV show remake is going to have some competition. Because there’s gonna be a porno version. It’s called … wait for it … “Wonder Woman XXX.” Pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? It stars porn star Tori Black as the superhero who will be “kickin’ butt and takin’ names.” Also! It was written and directed by a woman, Ashlynn Brooke, who is also a porn star.

I watched re-runs on CBS, I owned the underoos, and I had a fake phone booth in my bedroom where I impersonated voices. That’s why I was beyond nostalgic to hear that David E. Kelly (of “Ally McBeal” fame) is working on a television version of “Wonder Woman” for Warner Bros. It’s crucial that he finds the right actress to play Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Lynda Carter is a tough act to follow. I mean, she looked so good in those huge glasses. [NYMag.com]

While celebrities left and right are creating their own fragrance, everyone’s favorite comic book vixen, Wonder Woman, is branching out into the world of cosmetics. To celebrate the superhero and her beauty, MAC Cosmetics is launching a limited edition color cosmetics collection this spring, all based on the kickass cuff-wearing comic book character. The line will include lipsticks, eye shadows, blush, and nail polish, undoubtedly inspired by her red, white, blue, and gold bustier, short-shorts, and knee-high boots. Superpowers not included. Most 69-year-old women are chasing the grandkids, but Wonder Woman is still chasing bad guys — and she’s got a new outfit for the first time ever! Wonder Woman will debut her makeover today, in Issue No. 600 of her monthly comic book. Gone is the golden eagle-encrusted bodice, star-spangled boy shorts and, shocker, 80 percent of her exposed flesh. Wonder Woman’s new duds are downright modest — typically unheard of for women in comic book land — with black tights, a red top and blue jacket. Her ample bosom still features prominently, but hey, at least she is no longer fighting crime in a bustier. [New York Times] Keep reading »

Over the past few years, there have been a zillion and 12 super hero movies. And so it’s shocked me that “Wonder Woman: The Movie” hasn’t happened yet. I mean, the comic was great and the ’70s TV show starring Lynda Carter was a camp classic. I loved watching her wrestle bad guys with her lasso of truth and bullet-deflecting bracelets. It seems like such a natural. Evidently, the movie has had a long, twisted path. Rumors of the flick began in 2001, when producer Joel Silver started working on a screenplay which Sandra Bullock was rumored to be attached to. Then in 2005, it was announced that “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” auteur Joss Whedon was taking over the project. But studio execs didn’t like the direction he was going, and he abandoned ship in 2007. The movie looked dead in the water. But today, the chairman and CEO of Warner Brothers told shareholders in a presentation that he was working hard to bring it to the screen. Holler! I just have two words on who should play Wonder Woman: Zooey. Deschanel. [MTV] Keep reading »
Warner Brothers just released a “Wonder Woman” animated DVD this week — kapow! She’s back in action, but the superhero is looking a little bit more like a particular superstar than her iconic self. The new Wonder Woman is totally a doppelganger for Angelina Jolie! Which begs the question, what was the point of the make-under for flashy Wonder Woman? And let’s face it, Angie isn’t exactly the kind of girl that does straight to video releases! But ripping off her look is becoming a trend and imposters are popping up like she’s Elvis — the OctoMom, Megan Fox, Janice Dickinson, Lisa Rina’s lips, and now Wonder Woman?! What’s next — conventions for people dressed like Jolie with on-site collagen injections and baby adoptions?
