This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home and The Frisky’s little piggies all have a chance to win “The Heat” and some other awesome flicks for a girls night in! Okay, so it doesn’t rhyme, and we don’t care … you shouldn’t either.
Anyway, to celebrate the October 15 release of “The Heat” on DVD, we felt it was only right to give some of our oh-so-talented fans a chance to take home the Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy hit — plus some other awesome movies perfectly paired with PJs, pals and popcorn (okay, or wine).

Heyyyy Girl, whatcha doin? Oh … winning “New Girl” Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD? That’s what I thought.
To honor the quirky, Nick-lovin’ school teacher we all know as Jess Day (aka Zooey Deschanel), we’re tipping our hats to her brief period of unemployment in between teaching gigs AND giving you a chance to take home the first two seasons of the hit FOX show!
During her “funemployment,” Jess tried her hand at being a shot girl, a haunted house zombie, and best of all, her boobs “didn’t have to go to boob jail every day.” Keep reading »
Attention Ryan Gosling fans! Have you seen the actor’s latest movie, “The Place Beyond The Pines”? Of course you have. Chances are you’ve seen it twice, like I have, in which case you’ve noticed that in addition to being a totally fantastic film starring America’s favorite leading man (along with Eva Mendes and Bradley Cooper, and directed by Derek Cianfrance), the film has a killer soundtrack. In addition to the movie’s score by Faith No More’s Mike Patton, the soundtrack features tracks by Vladimir Ivanoff, Arvo Park, Bon Iver, and Ennio Morricone — and one lucky reader will receive a copy of the soundtrack on both CD and vinyl, along with a “Place Beyond The Pines” T-shirt (um, need) and Klipsch In-Ear Headphones. Find out how to enter, after the jump! Keep reading »
Last night, The Frisky staff took a little field trip to Times Square to see the new Broadway play, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” which is, of course, based on the Truman Capote novela of the same name. (There’s also a little movie version starring Audrey Hepburn that you’ve probably heard of, but the play stuck closer to the original.) Starring the drop-dead gorgeous Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryan on “Game of Thrones”) as Holly Golightly and Cory Michael Smith as Fred, the play, like the novella, is based during the ’40s in the midst of World War II, and tells the story of the infectious and charming, but ultimately untethered Holly and the wide-eyed neighbor who gets wrapped up in her mysterious life. Clarke and Smith are both fantastic in their roles, with Clarke — who also sings a bit for the role — especially putting her own spin on the iconic character. Also! The costumes by the legendary Colleen Atwood are stunning, Holly’s cat “Cat” is playing by a real, live adorable feline, and there’s a full-on nude bathtub scene between Holly and Fred that was worth the wait. All in all, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” was an engaging and moving staging of a beloved classic. And the best part is? One lucky reader will win two tickets to see the play on Broadway, as well as dinner at Glass House Tavern in NYC. Find out more about the prize and how to enter after the jump! Keep reading »
