The Fresh Prince’s Aunt Viv Has No Love For Will Smith

“There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an asshole like Will Smith. He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.”

– Janet Hubert, who played Aunt Viv on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” shot down rumors of a reunion with some harsh words for her former on-screen nephew. Apparently, these two have been beefing since the early-’90s, when she left the show.Back then, Smith implied that Hubert was resentful of his success when she had been working in Hollywood for a long time.

“She has basically gone from a quarter of a million dollars a year to nothing,” he said in 1993. “She’s mad now but she’s been mad all along. She said once, ‘I’ve been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.’ No matter what, to her I’m just the AntiChrist.” Keep reading »

Over the past two days, I have had the strange experience of watching a story blossom from a tiny tidbit into a juicy rumor via my Google Reader headlines. In each instance, the story started innocent, but as different websites composed their headlines, it got more and more salacious. Will Smith And Jada Pinkett-Smith Say The Split Rumors Are Totally False

“Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact.”

—Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith refute the report that circulated yesterday that they were splitting up after 13 years of marriage. So will this be one of those cases where the rumor goes away, never to be heard from again, or will this be a Nick Lachey/Jessica Simpson case where six months later they say initial reports were actually true? We shall have to wait and see. But I am betting $5 on Will and Jada making it work. [People]

Will Smith And Jada Pinkett-Smith Have Allegedly Separated

Looks like there might be trouble in Bel Air paradise. In Touch is reporting that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are separating after 13 years of marriage and two kids together. For the record, neither of their reps have confirmed the story but In Touch says that the news comes from an insider. I’m crossing my fingers that it isn’t true because—TMI about their sex life aside—I like these two together. I like that they met when Jada auditioned for “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” back in the day, but didn’t actually get together until years later. If they’ve split, it would sure be ironic considering this quote from Will in 2008. “What I found is divorce just can’t be an option. It’s really that simple. And I think that’s the problem with L.A. – there are so many options. So a huge part of the success for [Jada] and I is that we just removed the other options.” Stay tuned for more. I was a tad bit concerned when I heard that Will Smith was looking to do a remake of my favorite childhood musical, “Annie,” with his daughter Willow Smith whipping her hair as the iconic orphan. Willow is keeping quiet about the project and when recently asked about it on “Access Hollywood,” demurred, “You’re just going to have to wait.” But there is one detail she let slip. Willow Smith To Star In An “Annie” Remake?

If you pick up a photo of me as a kid, there is an 85 percent chance that I will be wearing a red curly wig in it. And if you watch any home videos, I will no doubt be singing either “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow” or “It’s A Hard Knock Life.” That’s because I was beyond obsessed with the 1982 movie, “Annie,” in which a precocious orphan is adopted by the mega-rich Daddy Warbucks. (Side note: I recently read that Aileen Quinn, who played Annie, is now a theater professor. You go, girl. No word on whether Sandy the dog is still barking.)

Willow Smith Might Cover “Parents Just Don’t Understand”

I made an amazing discovery the other day regarding Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s kids. Willow = Will. Jaden = Jada. Cute! (What, you already figured that out? Aren’t you smart!) Well, apparently Willow does really take after her papa, because she is considering covering his classic song, “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” She says, “There’s a possibility that I will [cover it].
