Rumor Alert: Has MTV Canceled “The City”?

Oh noes, Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo might have lost their fake jobs! Fashionista.com is reporting that MTV is canceling “The City” after this season. Rumor has it, MTV is booting Palermo off the network because she was cutting into Snooki’s pickle budget. Just kidding! We don’t know why “The City” would be canceled or if the rumor is even true. Frankly, we’re surprised the “Hills” spin-off lasted this long: Whitney Port has always been très boring, non? The only character we’ll miss is Kelly Cutrone, the People’s Revolution fashion PR girl. Thankfully, Kelly’s got her own show, “Kell On Earth,” on Bravo — but considering she’s one of Whitney Eve‘s biggest advocates, this won’t be the last we’ve seen of Whitney yet. Palermo, however, can crawl back from whence she came. [Fashionista] Keep reading »

“The City”‘s Roxy Olin Takes You On A Tour Through Her Closet

On “The City,” Roxy Olin, er, plays Whitney Port’s BFF. At first, I wasn’t sure about Roxy. So sassy. So defiant. So trouble-starter-ish. Yet, she has known grown on me, and Kelly Cutrone, too, obviously, so now I am on Team Roxy. I mean, compared to Olivia Palermo, this girl is a saint. Bluefly paid a visit to Roxy at home, where she takes us through her decidedly stylish wardrobe. Her fashion influence: Mick Jagger. Her current theme: the ’80s. Most unique piece: a disco ball shrug. Just don’t let her catch you in Uggs and a crop top. Her collection certainly is eclectic. Do you love it or hate it? The Cut] Keep reading »

Whitney Port’s Whitney Eve Fails To Impress Fashion Insiders

Fashion insiders Reality TV fans have been buzzing about Whitney Port‘s Whitney Eve fashion collection since it debuted. And while filming her reality show, “The City,” Whitney had the opportunity most young fashion designers only dream about — she showcased her collection for Joe Zee and Anne Slowey, two big-wigs over at Elle. Sadly, Whitney Eve failed to impress. Anne tried to make Whitney feel better about her efforts, which Joe dubbed “items” not a collection, by telling her that Alexander Wang started small, with one sweater. Then, Joe countered with: “It was one hell of a sweater, though.” Boo-yah! Keep reading »

Whitney Port’s Apartment Looks Like Home

It never fails to amuse us how celebrities think they can use Craigslist like everyone else, as if they’re normal people. Dream on. Sooner or later someone’s going to pick up on them. That’s what happened with Whitney Port after her three-bedroom West Village apartment went up in the Manhattan rentals section, with tons of photos matching up to the scenes in her MTV reality series “The City.” To be fair, it doesn’t look like Whitney herself put the listing online, but it’s still pretty hilarious. A look inside shows off sweet, country-inspired decor that admittedly makes us completely jealous because it a) looks so homey, and b) looks way homier than our homes. Which Mass Retailer Does Whitney Port Shop At?

As one of the more controversial retailers out there, you may live in denial that Walmart could ever produce anything classy. (Having Miley Cyrus design a line doesn’t quite help the image, though we do love Norma Kamali‘s offerings at the store.) This may change with the help of Whitney Port, who was spotted wearing a cute jersey dress that’s apparently from the store’s juniors collection, Susie Rose. Proving our instincts wrong that Whitney’s dress would be the only wearable thing in the mix, we found that there are actually quite a few pieces that show off a real sophisticated edge. A $16 romper nails basic preppy style, while elegantly draped ruffle tops will only set you back $12. If you’re interested in buying something, keep in mind that Susie Rose is a juniors line—like that’s ever stopped us before—so you’ll want to size up. Check after the jump for a few more looks from Walmart’s Susie Rose collection. What do you think? [Fashion Indie, Walmart] Keep reading »

Adidas Originals Short Is Where All The Cool Kids Are

They say that advertising is in the crapper these days, but Adidas sure seems to be onto something, at least in the realm of video campaigns, with its Adidas Originals shorts. In “The Street Where Originality Lives,” a cool urban street atmosphere hosts city skater kids who go to just about the most awesome-looking rooftop party you’ve never been to. Oh, and the cameo celeb appearances don’t hurt, either—Agyness Deyn, Ciara, David Beckham, Jeremy Scott, Snoop Dogg, and Whitney Port to name a few. [YouTube via HighSnobiety] Keep reading »
