Today in “Real Royal Tenenbaums News” … the internet is aflutter with the rumor that Bobbi Kristina Brown — 19-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston — is dating 22-year-old Nick Gordon. Gordon lived with Whitney and Bobbi Kristina from the time he was 12 (though Houston never officially adopted him) and served as an older brother figure to Bobbi Kris. Apparently, the romance rumors started when Gordon tweeted the above photo (which some suggest has, like, sexy overtones?) and referred to her in the possessive (“MY Krissi”). Then he responded to the rumors, writing on Twitter, “Yea we got a little closer and what!!!!” never denying that the two are an item and retweeting those who defended the (alleged) romance. So, while it’s not a direct confirmation, it’s not a denial either. So, yeah… [Twitter via Crushable]
This Target greeting card is one of those things that was offensive to begin with, but crossed way over the good taste line when Whitney Houston passed away. Luckily, the chain had the good sense to realize that they needed to get the card off the shelves ASAP. “The card was in our stores prior to Ms. Houston’s death. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores,” a rep told TMZ. Still, I’m cringing. And wondering whom it ever would have been appropriate to give this card to in the first place. [ABC News, Reddit (photo)]
We should have known that the kids from PS22 would create perhaps the most touching tribute to Whitney Houston. Last week, the kids taped this moving rendition of Houston’s “Greatest Love of All,” featuring incredible, goosebump-producing solos from Kahlil and Kiarah. We love these kids. And we also love that chorus instructor Mr. B finally cut off that man ponytail. Lookin’ good! [YouTube]
Mel Gibson reached out to Whitney Houston and tried to help the superstar overcome her personal issues at the height of her drug troubles, according to a new report.
The actor previously came to the aid of Britney Spears following her public meltdown in 2008 and offered up his estate in Costa Rica as a refuge for the pop star to recover from her struggles away from the spotlight.
Now TMZ.com reports Gibson also attempted to come to the rescue of Houston while she battled an addiction to cocaine, marijuana and other drugs in the early 2000s. Read more…
