What I’m Wearing Today:
Catherine says that I look like I’m going somewhere classy upstate to shoot clay pigeons, and I really can’t come up with a better description than that. It’s supposed to rain in New York this afternoon/evening and the only thing that quells my phobia of going out in the rain (seriously, I have one) is my Hunter rain boots, because they are stylish and keep my feet and the hem of my jeans (tucked inside, obvs) dry. Simcha gifted me this vintage scarf for my b-day and I squealed when I opened it because it’s Missoni and that crap costs major bucks new.
What I’m Wearing Today:
So, aside from the tights and dress (this one is by the designer who does Blair’s mom’s line on “Gossip Girl”), I am wearing the same outfit as Monday. I’m a creature of habit, y’all. Seriously, I just can’t not wear these shoes! They’re so cute and fancy and, also, all my other heels need to be resoled, so there’s that. Anyway, I decided to take it up a notch today, after yesterday’s slobfest. And I’m wearing my glasses more: A) because I love them and B) because I need to place a new order at 1-800-Contacts. Anyway, loving my outfit today. Very happy with it.
What I’m Wearing Today:
So I’m working from home today, which has NOTHING to do with the fact that I went out for a big ol’ birthday celebration last night, oh no it doesn’t. This is what I wore, however, to walk my dog, Lucca, and to see my therapist. Yes, even the gold shoes. What? I love them.
What I’m Wearing Today:
Today is my 30th birthday! Whee! After my breakup I went through a long period of buying A LOT of dresses. For some reason, they gave me a little comfort, in a totally shallow way. Mint by Jodi Arnold is the dress designer I love the most, as I know they fit me like a glove and I adore her prints. Seriously, the amount of Mint in my closet is almost criminal. They should pay me, because I am practically a walking billboard. Anyhoo, I am having a little birthday dinner with the BF and friends tonight, so I’ll probably change into something fancier. Maybe I’ll take a pic of that outfit too, for the end of the week roundup…
What I’m Wearing Today:
I feel very French today in my striped shirt and scarves. Yes, that’s scarves, plural. I tied together two from my favorite thrift store, Village Discount Outlet, and since they’re made from the same super soft cotton, they look like one perfectly sized, multi-patterned scarf.
What I’m Wearing Today:
We have a big fancy work party tonight, and I wanted to look extra nice so I wore a new dress. I like how it’s roomy while still being flattering. (Yes, Amelia has the same one; I copied her.) Also, if you haven’t noticed, I have a thing for gray tights. They are the most versatile color of hosiery, in my opinion, and Strawberry, the cheap trend store by our office, always has some in stock.
What I’m Wearing Today:
I have trouble walking when I wear tights because they make my shoes really slippery, so today I put a pair of semi-hidden yellow ankle socks on top of this maroon pair. I say “semi” because Amelia noticed them and said, “Are those your bowling socks?!” (They are.) [We bought the same pair when we were playing in a bowling league last winter and needed socks.—Editor] I hadn’t planned on anyone seeing them, but now I think the pop of color is kind of fun.
Since you guys seemed to like our September series “What Are People Wearing Today?” documenting the ups and downs of The Frisky staff’s wardrobe choices, we’re launching a similar daily feature. “Style Diary” will follow one Frisky girl for a week, showing what she wore each day and giving a little insight into her style philosophy. We hope you enjoy it, and feel free to share what you’re wearing, too!!
What I’m Wearing Today:
I bought this dress in a final sale online, so I chose the size I usually wear and hoped for the best since I wouldn’t be able to return it. When I got the dress in the mail, the top part, which is knit, was really loose and hung waaay lower than a scoop-neck should. I thought all was lost, but I took it to an amazingly talented tailor who had the brilliant idea to secretly gather the knit part with a hidden thread. You can’t even tell the dress has been altered! Next time, I want to try wearing it with a button-down shirt underneath.
