I have no idea what Emmy Rossum is doing these days — television actress? lounge singer? used car salesperson? — but man, if she doesn’t look crazy good while doing it. Emmy served up street style to perfection two days in a row, first in a glamorous, equestrian-inspired blazer-and-boots look and then in a ladylike spotted blouse and leather skirt combo. If dressing well off-duty is the only thing she’s got going on in her career these days, then, well, she’s performing just fabulously. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
Against all odds, Lily Collins — daughter of ’80s soft rock god Phil Collins — has made the crop top red carpet -worthy. Seen here at the premiere of “Immortal Instruments,” Lily is showing strangers like me how elegant an exposed navel can be. What a wake up call! If the trend hangs in long enough — or at least one more night — maybe I’ll give crop tops a shot. Then I’ll be saying, “Take a look at me now!” [Photos: Pacific Coast News]
As an ample-bosomed lady, I love that Christina Hendricks dresses to play up her curves instead of minimizing or hiding them. I’m currently trying to transition from flowy, shapeless blouses to more curve-hugging styles, so Christina has become my style role model, and she’s doing an excellent job of it. Exhibit A: this gorgeous red shirt dress, paired with brown accessories, cat eye sunglasses, and a mischievous smirk. So fabulous. I’m taking notes. [Photo: Splash News]
This is our first Rachel McAdams In Public sighting in, like, forever, and we are delighted to find that she’s still looking just as lovely as she did in her Hollywood heyday circa “The Notebook.” Yep, her hair is orange, but somehow — somehow — magical McAdams is working it. But just one thing: what is with that reflective belt? An interesting choice, indeed.
Not sure if I love this unique patchwork dress or am just really excited to see Miley taking a break from her basketball jersey and thigh-high boots uniform (probably both), but I’m giving this look a big thumbs up. Miley was on the red carpet with fiance Liam Hemsworth (side note: didn’t they break up? No? I thought they did?) at the premiere of his new movie, “Paranoia.” Depending on which tabloid you read, the two were either acting like giddy schoolgirls in love, or angry strangers who barely acknowledged each other’s existence. So, there you go. [Photo: Splash News]
I say “dares” to wear satin because anytime a female celeb wears the form-fitting fabric on the red carpet, the paparazzi photo sites start speculating that the perfectly normal looking, if not concave, belly area is evidence that said celeb is pregnant. And that is annoying. Stupid speculations aside, Jennifer Aniston looks fab in this midi-length smokey purple gown at the red carpet premiere of “We’re The Millers.” Suck it, paps. The Hudson-Bellamy family arrived at LAX yesterday, and mama Kate was wearing a pair of seriously acid washed skinny jeans that, for whatever reason, I actually really like. Is it because she paired them with thoroughly modern black pumps and a simple white tank top? Or is it because I’m blinded by baby Bingham’s cute little face? Probably the latter, but whatever, I’m digging this look. [Photo: Splash News]
It appears that Rosie Huntington-Whitely is wearing a scarf as a dress, and hello, go for it. This looks like the perfect outfit for a day date with boyfriend Jason Statham (we assume). The only thing we’d change is that belt, which veers a bit on the clearance-rack-at-Costco side of life. Otherwise, go forth and conquer us with your model ways, Rosie. [Photo: Pacific Coast News]
This morning on the subway, a woman was loudly making fun of Rachel Zoe’s vocal inflections, as if it was 2009 and doing so was at all culturally relevant. This same woman was also loudly telling her traveling companion about how she’s writing a memoir. A yoga memoir. So yeah.
Speaking of Rachel Zoe, I guess she was out and about on Wednesday with a young girl who is possibly a fashion muse or a relative or Harvey Weinstein’s niece. Whichever the case, the way the young girl is dressed represents “actual weather,” while Rachel Zoe’s ensemble represents “weather in Rachel Zoe’s idea environ.” Whatever, I’m super into it, and I need to know where she gets her absolutely perfect flared jeans. What to wear to the premiere of the hilarious, female-driven new comedy “The To Do List”? A short party dress, natch. I’m completely obsessed with Rachel Bilson’s blue frock, while Aubrey’s sweetheart neckline dress is adorable too. Done well, ladies. [Photo: INFPhoto.com]
