Hot damn, Ellen and Portia are a beautiful couple, aren’t they? My favorite thing about them is that every time they’re together, they both just light up–they wear their adoration for each other on their sleeve and I really admire that. OK, enough fangirl-ing about their relationship, let’s talk about their outfits! For the “Arrested Development” premiere red carpet (side note: OH MY GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING), Ellen chose a sleek gray suit while Portia vamped it up in a tight black dress and a funky pompadour. They both look stylish, happy, and confident, which is the very essence of “Well Played.” [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
It seems like heavy, chunky scarves are kind of a year round accessory in Los Angeles. Here’s Ms. Selena Gomez in a scarf, sandals and boyfriend jeans, on her way to the gym. It’s a good spring look, because you can easily add a layer with a cardigan, or strip down to a tank top if you’re having drinks at a sidewalk cafe. Which is what we imagine Selena did after her gym stopover. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
Olivia Palermo, man. So far as I can tell, Olivia doesn’t seem to have a job or anything, so her days are spent sunbathing, traveling around the world and frolicking with her boyfriend Johannes Huebl. I suppose that gives her plenty of time to pick out outfits and look adorbs. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
Kate Hudson showed up for an appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” in a leather pencil skirt with a hot pink top, and left the studio in a leather micro mini and hot pink pumps. As a lover of Kate Hudson, the color pink, ’80s fashion, and black leather, I am completely obsessed with both looks. Which outfit do you prefer? Left Kate or Right Kate? [Photos: Fame/Flynet]
I don’t care what you say, I love me some Rachel Zoe. I think she’s absurd, but she knows she’s absurd, which makes her absurdity marginally forgivable. Plus, she basically dresses like a high fashion hippie/witchy Earth mother, which is super adorable. I mean, can’t you just picture her doing a shift at the food co-op? Or attending some kind of Wiccan chanting event or something? And little Skyler Berman? He looks like an adorable street urchin of a child — all tiny boy hair bun and overalls. Basically, what a lucky kid. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
The official caption on this photo is “Julianne Hough stops to purchase some gum at a gas station on Sunset Blvd,” and although it’s pretty obvious she’s either going to or coming from a fancier event, I prefer to think that this is the outfit she wore specifically to go out and buy some gum. It may be a bit formal for a gas station, but I’m loving the all-white ensemble and funky accessories (those shoes are seriously fierce). I’ve gotta step up my gas station fashion game. Sometimes I see an outfit and I respond in ways far beyond, “Oh, that’s cute.” No, sometimes I see an outfit and I imagine myself wearing it. I imagine where I’m wearing it and who is with me and what I am eating and drinking and saying while I’m wearing it. It’s not just an outfit, it’s a life. Or something.
Like, I see this outfit on Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and I imagine myself wearing it — albeit with the pants a few sizes bigger, with a shorter hem, because this is me not some supermodel — as I stroll the streets of some town in the South of France. I am smoking, but the cigarettes don’t cause cancer in this imaginary world, and I am holding hands with my French fling and he’s more intelligent than in real life, though his English is still atrocious, but that’s what makes our conversations so charming. And suddenly he stops, sets the bottle of wine he was carrying down on the cobble-stoned street, and using his gold pinky-ringed hand, he lifts the brim of my terribly chic hat that only works on some people, and he kisses me. It is terribly romantic, but then a stray cat wanders over and knocks over the wine onto my suede shoes, but we don’t care because this outfit is perfect. The End. [Photos: Fame/Flynet]
I absolutely love it when women wear tuxedo pants, especially in unexpected color combinations, so when I saw this picture of Jada Pinkett Smith heading to the “Good Morning America” studios in a pair of beige and black tuxedo pants, I was instantly smitten. There’s definitely a lot going on in this outfit — striped pants and platforms, lace top, leather jacket, spiked nails — but I think she looks amazing. Don’t even get me started on how this woman has maintained the flawless, glowing skin of a 20-year-old at age 41. Maybe her chill attitude about her kinda, sorta open marriage has helped fend off wrinkles? Gorgeous. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
Here are all of the things I know about Olga Kurylenko: she’s Russian, she’s dating Danny Huston, and she has the type of face that I would like to wear as my own. Also, she’s starring in a new movie with Tom Cruise, which I won’t be seeing. My criteria for movies is, “is Tom Cruise in this movie?” If the answer is yes, I won’t see it. Sorry, everyone who’s ever been in a movie with Tom Cruise. Including you, Olga.
But anyway, I’m almost always crying about how celebrities don’t wear nearly enough Elie Saab. I don’t get it — every single one of his dresses is to die for, and on the occasion that someone does wear Saab’s designs, they look like this. Impeccable! So: if you’re famous, have ever been famous, or may become famous, and you’re reading this, WEAR ELIE SAAB. DO IT FOR ME. [Photo: WENN]
The Obamas dressed up in their Sunday best to attend an Easter church service in DC, and as usual, I’m totally in awe of this gorgeous family. Sasha and Malia looked beautiful (and age-appropriate) in their colorful Easter dresses, while the divine Mrs. O opted for a Prabal Gurung dress she’s worn a couple times before. Well played, Obama family! [Photo: Getty]
