Keira Knightley Recycles Her Chanel Wedding Dress For Event

Keira Knightley recycles her Chanel wedding dress

Who said wearing your wedding dress had to be a one-off deal? Not Keira Knightley, that’s for sure. The actress, who wed musician James Righton this past May (center), rocked her repurposed wedding dress at an event in London last night (left). Worn over some sort of long-sleeved mesh garment, the Chanel frock looked pretty perfect on the blue carpet, but this isn’t the first time Knightley has sported the look off the altar — she actually first inaugurated the tulle number back in 2008, when she wore it with black tights to a BAFTA awards dinner (right). Five years ago, her wedding, and today … it’s safe to say Keira really, really loves this dress. [Photo Credit: WENN]

“I need style advice! I’m getting married this summer and all the wedding shoes I’ve found are horrible. They’re mostly these weird cheap looking silver strappy things that are way overpriced. The only cute ones I can find have high heels, but I’m tall (5’10) and my fiancé’s not much taller and I don’t want to tower over him! Do you have any suggestions for low-heeled shoes that would be cute with a wedding dress but also rewearable later (especially if they’re on the expensive side)? Maybe a couple of white/silver options as well as some color?” –Betsy

Dear Betsy,

After spending the last couple hours wading through pages and pages of atrocious wedding shoes, I’m starting to feel your pain, but I still think we can find you the lovely low heels of your dreams. I found 9 options in a pretty wide variety of styles, colors, and prices. Check ‘em out after the jump, and if you’re a fellow tall bride with low-heeled suggestions for Betsy, please share your wedding shoe wisdom in the comments! Style 911: What Should The Daughter Of The Bride Wear?

My mom’s getting married next month, and I don’t even know where to start when it comes to finding a “daughter of the bride” dress. Mom is pretty laid back and hasn’t given me much guidance, fashion-wise, because she’s been so busy with wedding planning. Any tips would be much appreciated! –Proud DOB

Congrats to your mom! So, this is a really interesting question, because while there are plenty of resources out there for mother of the bride outfits (all of which seem to involve beaded boleros), “daughter of the bride” is still mostly uncharted fashion territory. Obviously you’re not alone in your quest: so many women decide to remarry later in life that “daughter of the bride” is now a very common role.

It really depends on the formality of your mom’s wedding and if she wants you to wear the same style as her bridesmaids or coordinate with the wedding colors, but in any case, here are a few general guidelines to keep in mind when choosing a DOB dress… Keep reading »

Must Haves: 7 Stylish Dresses For Sweltering Summer Weddings

Over the weekend, I went to an outdoor wedding, which was totally lovely except for the fact that Saturday happened to be the hottest day Oregon’s had in three years. The temperature allowed the guests to bond very quickly by comparing the size of our back sweat stains, but damn, it was an uncomfortable afternoon. I felt so grateful that I’d picked up a cute, breezy dress the week before (that green floral number on the left, in fact!), so I thought it might be helpful to round up some other dress options to get everyone through the rest of the sweltering summer wedding season in style and (relative) comfort. Click through to check ‘em out!
