Is Skipping Rings The New Wedding Trend?

When Prince William and Kate Middleton get married on April 29, Kate will receive a ring made from gold mined in the Welsh mountains that has been in the royal vault since the days of Queen Elizabeth. But Kate will not be slipping a ring on William’s finger. Apparently, William has opted against the tradition of wearing a wedding ring. As a royal spokesperson explains, “There is only going to be one ring, in accordance with the couple’s wishes.” [People]

I Don’t Always Wear My Wedding Ring

I’m back from a girlfriend getaway in paradise. Traveling with a best friend off the beaten path awakened joy in me and soothed my soul, but it also left me wondering: Why can’t I capture that sense of fun and wonder in everyday life? Why do I feel so stuck here in Boston, yet I was free as a bird in Mexico?

Is Minnie Driver Secretly Married?

Minnie Driver spent Mother’s Day playing in the park with her son, Henry Story Driver, and, interestingly enough, she was photographed sporting a ring on the finger normally reserved for engagement rings and wedding bands. Minnie’s been mum about her son’s father — and her love life — since announcing her pregnancy back in 2008. Could she have secretly gotten married? We doubt it.

Minnie seems to be one of those people who doesn’t care too much about convention. At her father’s funeral last year, for example, she wore red, rather than the standard black. Why should she be required to save her left ring finger for marital jewelry? Now, they’re taking the dream one step farther with a line of wedding and engagement rings.

For $1,200 to $6,000 (not including the center stone, known as “semi-mounts” in the biz), Prince Charming can propose with a ring that corresponds to a Disney heroine, created by Kirstie Kelly for Disney for Mouawad.
