Doctors Without Borders Gives Voice To Congo War Survivors

Doctors without Borders, the organization that goes to war zones and the forgotten ends of the earth to treat anyone who needs care, is bringing good of a different kind to the people they serve. A few years ago, NBC’s “ER” gave voices to fictional doctors and patients in Darfur, and now the real doctors are offering a voice to the people of the Congo. War has ravaged that country for nearly a decade, bringing with it poverty, cruelty, and disease. It’s been especially brutal for women, because child soldiers and career soldiers alike used rape as a weapon against the women. It was an event so big and awful, it’s been hard to see. That’s why Doctors Without Borders started Condition: Critical, a website which allows people to speak out about their experiences and for the rest of us to communicate back with our support. James Lipton Wants You To Stop Sending Incriminating Texts

To stop crazy young people from sending sexual, mean or just plain stupid texts, LG is launching a PSA campaign encouraging peeps to “Give it a Ponder.” The ads star James Lipton of “Inside the Actor’s Studio” and—randomly—his removable beard. Watching James, who is pretty much a universal father figure, say “junk” makes this whole weird campaign totes worth it. Watch this one and then check out the others, after the jump. Keep reading »

Say Hello To Mop Cat!

Maru is, like, so over. Now, it’s all about Mop Cat! Check out what is quite possibly the most lethargic cat on the planet as it gets pushed around the floor like a mop. Personally, I think Mop Cat likes it. Surely, Mop Cat and Maru would make some strange kittens together … [Urlesque] Keep reading »

Woman Destroys Her Boyfriend’s XBox And Posts The Vid On YouTube

Fueling the legend of the psycho girlfriend, this lovely lady decided that, rather than breaking up with her video game-obsessed boyfriend, the way to make her life better would be to take a golf club to his Xbox, and post the footage on the internet. According to this bored blonde, this video is a warning to men so that they will pay more attention to their potentially crazy significant others, but we think men will take it as a warning to extend their electronics’ warranties and to hide their golf clubs when not in use. Paula Deen Gets Hit In The Face With A Flying Ham

Poor Paula Deen. The celebrity chef was at a Thankgiving event when a participant decided to use a big ol’ frozen ham roast as a pig skin and Deen’s face got in the way. She seems a-okay though. Nothing eating a stick of butter can’t cure! Keep reading »

Could You Live In A 100-Square-Foot Home?

In the video above, Jay Shafer, the builder/designer behind Tumbleweed Tiny House Company, gives us a tour of his home, which is less than 100-square-feet big. His home has all the modern amenities of a regular sized house — electricity, plumbing, and appliances — with the exception of a guest room. This is the third tiny house Shafer has lived in, and he says he lives this way to lessen his impact on the environment. Tiny houses like his are available with dimensions from 90 to 400 square feet, which are sizes more appropriate for a walk-in closet according to women like the “Real Housewives” of Orange County, Atlanta, and New Jersey. Do you think you could live in a cozy house this small? [Impact Lab, YouTube] Keep reading »

The Best Ice Skating Routine Ever!

This skater, seen practicing for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, can really spin and she has an unusual trick up her sleeve. If ice skating were really like this, I’d find it interesting, rather than predictable. Keep reading »

How Jason Segal Met Me

Jason Segal doesn’t know it yet, but he is my intended. We once had a run-in at a New Year’s Eve party, but when he said, “Hello,” I got all tripped up and spilled champagne on myself. Fail. But I keep hope in my heart, and love to watch his movies and pine. Luckily, it looks like my moment has finally come. Last night at a Los Angeles show with band The Swell Season—made up of Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard from the movie “Once”—Jason got up and performed a little ditty he wrote. When he asked for songwriting advice (I think he is trying to break out of the Dracula puppet genre, even though I find it charming), Marketa told him, “Write a song from the heart and include as much personal information as possible.” And that he did, my friends. In a move that I can only call “a miraculous turn of events for me,” he included his digits!!! If you’ll excuse me now, I have a very important phone call to make. I really hope it’s not a fake number. [BuzzFeed] Keep reading »

De-Pantsed Players Make Us More Interested In Football

During yesterday’s football game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears, Chicago wide receiver Devin Hester got de-pantsed by Philadelphia’s Dimitri Patterson while attempting to catch a pass. The best part was that no one noticed what had happened until it was replayed at a different angle. When Hester’s bare buttocks popped on the screen, the commentators went silent. While Hester isn’t a tight end, he certainly has one. Watch the video after the jump — because seeing big dudes lose their pants never gets old (NSFW if your boss doesn’t like you looking at butts).
