See Christian Hendricks, Elisabeth Moss & Others Before They Were On “Mad Men”

Yup, That's Elisabeth Moss

We knew Elisabeth Moss played the president’s daughter on “The West Wing” and Jon Hamm once promised a lady a “fabulous foot massage” on a now-cancelled dating show. Thanks to this BuzzFeed, we now know that the rest of the “Mad Men” cast has been under our noses this whole time. Well, if you watched that “Buffy” spin-off “Angel,” anyway. [YouTube]

For The Love Of Pete Campbell, What Happened To Vincent Kartheiser’s Hairline?

Vincent Kartheiser, who plays “Mad Men”‘s smarmy Pete Campbell, showed up the show’s season seven premiere with an interesting new look. Talk about committing to his craft! I’m assuming, of course, that Vincent shaved a receding hairline into his scalp (which appears to be growing out) for a role — perhaps Pete is starting to lose his hair? Maybe Vincent is playing a Hare Krishna in an upcoming film? I don’t know, but I am mesmerized. [Photos: Fame/Flynet]

Pete Campbell & Rory Gilmore Are Hooking Up In Real Life, Plus 10 Other (Ill-Fated) TV Showmances

If you enjoyed the clandestine sex scenes between Pete Campbell and Rory Gilmore, we mean Beth Dawes, on “Mad Men” this season, you’ll be pleased to know that these two may be carrying on off set as well. Allegedly, Vincent Kartheiser and Alexis Bledel were spotted canoodling on a flight from JFK to LAX yesterday. Although they haven’t let on about the relationship, if it is true, we think it’s kind of cute. As long as neither of them are involved with other people and she doesn’t do it in fur, why not? BUT and this comes with a big BUT, dating your TV co-star is a risky move. No matter how many times we warn them, TV show stars keep falling in love with each other—knowing full well that if it doesn’t work out that they’re stuck working with their ex for seasons to come. Here are a few television showmance casualties. We hope Vincent and Alexis don’t succumb to the same fate. [ONTD]

“I’ll say this: I would personally never do that, just to be clear. I don’t think the fact that it happened in the ’60s makes it any less despicable. It’s despicable, regardless of how or when you do it. I’ll also say: Businesses oftentimes have to resort to things that they would never want the public to know they resorted to, in order to get a foothold. What’s the old saying? “Most great corporations were started with a great crime.” It’s true! And Pete is OK being the guy making that really rough call — he can stomach it. He can stomach how the sausage is made. The rest of them sit around and say, ‘It’s not my choice,’ and Pete stands up and says, “I’ll do it. I’ll go to him. I’ll go to her. I’ll go over Don’s head.” I don’t respect him for it, but I do think sometimes it takes someone like that, someone ready to be accountable, in order to get ahead.”

– Vincent Karthesier, who plays loathsome Pete Campbell on “Mad Men,” had some really smart, thoughtful things to say about his universally detested character, including Pete’s willingness to pimp out fellow employee Joan to a car executive. Karthesier has always seemed like the exact opposite of the uptight, smarmy Campbell, but in this interview with Huffington Post, he says, “I can relate with most of the things Pete does. I’m not saying I dothem, but most of his actions — in those situations — are justifiable. I don’t think it’s that far off from what other people would do.” [Huffington Post]
