The Vienna Girardi and Jake Pavelka he-said-she-said battle has gone from 0 to 60 in the past 24 hours. The couple managed to grace the covers of 3 of 5 major tabloids this week. First Vienna went to Star, who supposedly paid her a whopping $90,000 for her side of the story—that their engagement was a sham, that Jake was cruel, and that he wouldn’t have sex with her—as she was packing her bags to leave him. In retaliation, Jake spoke to People, refuting her claims and saying that the real reason for the breakup was A) her hookup with Gregory Michael of “Greek” and B) her talking to Star behind his back. But what has me the most interested here is that $90K price tag. Is it ethical for tabloids to pay people of note for their breakup stories, especially before the breakup has even happened?
