“Bonnie And Bonnie”: The Tale Of Two Stylish Robbers

Now here’s a fashion short done right—it’s campy, cute, and not trying to be pretentious. StyleCaster’s short film “Bonnie and Bonnie” features all the makings of pure fashion entertainment. Follow Bonnie and Bonnie, two awesomely dressed roommates (one if whom is “The City” star Erin Lucas), who, it turns out, look that way because they’re robbers. Oh, and lesbians. Of course. V Magazine Puts “Coco In Motion”

While Chanel has traditionally been one of those “serious” fashion houses, it seems like the label has been experiencing a playful re-branding thanks to those on the inside (see Karl Lagerfeld’s campy Spring/Summer 2010 runway show) and those on the outside who have taken a more lighthearted approach to the fashions. To wit, this fun stop-motion video of Chanel bags, shoes, jewelry, and clothing dancing around to bubbly French pop music. The project is brought to you by the V magazine team, who shot a very sexy Chanel-clad Natalie Portman for this month’s cover. This clip kind of makes us want to empty our shoe closet and direct our own fashion short. [YouTube]

Chromeo Fights Swine Flu With PSA For Kids’ Show

Hey, kids! Washing your hands is cool. Especially with this mad lame swine flu or whatever going around.

That’s what electropop duo Chromeo wants the youth of America to know, so they did this PSA for the show “Yo Gabba Gabba.” (Which, we might add, is the most alarmingly bizarre program we’ve ever seen, and could only be explained by guessing that its writers are on a continual LSD trip.) The song “Nice N Clean” is both cute and catchy, and kind of makes us want to marry David Macklovitch, the scruffy, singing hipster. Something tells us that when you take a hip band, put them on a wacky children’s show, and make them compose a snappy “wash your hands” PSA, it’s more for the grown-ups. Yes, we’re looking at you. Check Out These Dresses Made From Chocolate

Whoa, this is like a “Project Runway” challenge that a bunch of designers did just because. This fashion show for a chocolate convention in New York featured dresses created by clothing designers and pastry chefs. We hadn’t heard of any of them before, and maybe these wacky designs are the reason why: The presentation included dresses with cartoon-y touches, a molded bodice made from dark and milk chocolate, and a Lady Gaga-esque outfit featuring a futuristic leotard made from candy armor and fishnets.

What might be more interesting (or disturbing, you decide) is a bit on a new type of chocolate, one made from camel milk. It’s described as being a bit salty with a “mineral” taste. So wrong. And oddly, we kind of want to try it. [CNN]

Get A Closer Look At the Jimmy Choo Collection For H&M

Been chomping at the bit to see more of the Jimmy Choo collection for H&M? Check out this exclusive video with Choo’s founder (and quite the stylish-looking lady) Tamara Mellon, who gives a walk-through of the line. Surprisingly, one of the best parts of the collection is actually the clothes, which have been overshadowed by Choo’s main draw (shoes, obvi). For starters, the cute electric blue shift Mellon wears in the video is part of the deal, plus there’s a glam black evening jumper and a one-shouldered leather dress with ruffle details. Everything is designed to be mixed and matched.

Some great fashion advice from Mellon: she starts conceptualizing an outfit based on the shoes first, and then the accessories. Do you ever dress from the bottom up? Or do you start with the clothes and then add on? [YouTube]

If Underwear Could Fly

What would your panties (eww, hate that word) do if they had the day off from the constraints of being the most over-worked and under-appreciated undergarments? Perhaps they would take flight as they do in this Japanese cartoon, “Sora no Otoshimono.” Does anyone know what that means in Japanese? All of these pairs of underwear flapping in the breeze inspired a guy to actually create a real-life pair of flying schoolgirl panties. OK, that’s just slightly creepy. Watch them take to the sky after the jump. [BuzzFeed]

Watch Jude Law Play A Crossdressing Model For Free

In theory, the combination of Jude Law, leather, and Russian accents could actually turn you on. But what’s more likely is that it will make you laugh. We told you about “Rage”—a film directed by Sally Potter about a Russian supermodel named Minx (played in drag by Mr. Law) and other kooky characters from the fashion world—back in July. But now we know you can watch it entirely online at Babelgum in a seven-part series. We haven’t had a chance to take time away from our busy blogging schedules to watch it yet, but the cast alone is a recipe for success—there’s a fashion critic played by Judi Dench, Steve Buscemi the photographer, as well as Lily Cole, Eddie Izzard, and John Leguizamo.

Hopefully, your internet won’t go out mid-showing, because then you’d be raging against the machine. (Sorry. We couldn’t help it.) [Babelgum.com via Popwatch]

You Gotta Watch This Totally Psycho Christian Louboutin Video

God we love the odd fashion video. Usually, they’re pretty artsy and avant-garde, but somehow we missed the video that everyone’s favorite shoe designer made for the opening of his new Rodeo Drive store earlier this month. It’s a pretty straightforward (not to mention totally entertaining) take on Hitchcock’s “Psycho,” ahem, until it turns into something totally unexpected involving singer Mika. And we don’t wanna ruin anything, but you already may have guessed the murder weapon in this version. [Chic Report]

Tom Ford’s New Film Not About Fashion, But Still Full Of Style

You may or may not remember that American designer Tom Ford took some time away from his busy fashion and beauty career to make a film. And while some people were critical of this move, having met and chatted the night away with Ford a couple of years ago, I was struck by how incredibly intelligent, creative, passionate and just downright cool he was. Basically, I’ve totally had his back on this the whole time. (Like he cares, but anyway.) So that very film premiered this weekend in Venice and the reviews are stellar! Julianne Moore is fantastic (no surprise there) and there are already Best Actor rumors swirling around male star, Colin Firth. Also to be expected, Ford brings style to the table with a moody palette, gorgeous costumes and a beautiful soundtrack. Can’t wait to see the whole thing!

In Washington, D.C. Everyone Is A Style Star

Fashionable Woman

We love “Scene In” WashingtonPost.com’s on-the-street video style series. It’s like The Sartorialist, if Sart shot video and lived near the White House. So far, the D.C. trend hunters have checked out Dupont Circle, Capitol Hill, and Jazz in the Garden, among other neighborhoods, and now they’ve hit the historic U Street district, where “everyone is, like, a style star in their own way.” What’s hot? Fresh striped shades, thrift store frocks, the Amber Rose look, Carlton Banks t-shirts, and color, color, color. [Scene In]

Adam Lambert Does Not Want You To Throw Your Sex Toys At Him On Stage

You may have heard that rabid fans of “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert have taken to throwing sex toys at the singer when he’s on stage. It started out as the usual bras and panties. Then, things got kinky. Handcuffs. Whips. Dildos. You name it; they pummel him with it. At first, Lambert said, it was “exciting,” but when he almost got hit in the head with a bra, he wasn’t so sure. Judging by what he does when a phallus lands on stage in this video, I’m guessing he’s really over it.

Feline Factoid: Your Cat Wants A Personal Massager

Urlesque discovered cats love electric massagers. Who knew? When the cat in the video above gets its paws on a personal massager, it goes a little nuts. It’s like true love—of the vibrating kind. I like the part when its head vibrates. Of course, not all kitties are so happy to partake in the pleasures of vibrating devices. See what happens when cats and massagers go wrong after the jump!

Little Girl Shows You How To Move It, Move It

Is it possible to adopt a child via YouTube? Because I would like to adopt this tiny dancehall queen. She is six. She is French. She is grooving to “Décalé Gwada.” And she has more moves than I’ll ever have in my life. You go, girl! [Scanner]

Amber Rose Reveals Her Style Secret

Her relationship with Kanye West, her blond baldie, that colorful lipstick: We all know Amber Rose for one thing or another. But it’s safe to say that what she’ll always be remembered for are her bold fashion choices. From stunning floor-length ball gowns to leopard-print leggings and grunge boots, there isn’t a look she hasn’t tried or mastered. Wondering how she keeps her style so effortlessly chic? During an interview with Rose at the opening of the Guess Store in New York City, Amber, who was decked out in Guess (of course!), waxed poetic about her outfit and made it clear that it’s not Kanye or a stylist who makes her look so good. Instead, as she confirms, “I do it myself!” (She’s not the only one: Zoe Kravitz and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are also rumored to be a handful of celebs who manage to look chic—or silly—without the aid of an overpriced stylist.) We like that. [The Blay Report]

    Furverts Are Not Perverts

Have you ever heard of furries? Furries are people who dress up like animals. Not like a mascot. Like, that’s your thing. That’s what you’re into. Some people are even “furry lifestylers.” Every summer, furries from around the world gather in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for Anthrocon, a furry convention, upon which the media descends to get footage of people running around in fur suits. Furries, though, get upset because the media keeps making lewd suggestions, like Anthrocon is some kind of furry orgy. Here, a guy named Carl explains how furries can “put the best face on furry fandom” when talking to the media, advising furries that they should tell the media that they don’t get off sexually on running around in fur suits. Sure ya’ don’t, Mr. Furry. [Lindsayism]

    Cats Are Funny!

A lot of people up here in this website are dog people. Me? I’m a cat person. (RIP Kurtis!) I love this animated series, “Simon’s Cat,” in which a guy named Simon suffers the various hijinks of his feline friend. The cartoons are created by Simon Tofield, a British animator who has three cats: Hugh, Maisie and Jess. The online ‘toons have proved so popular that this October will see the publication of Simon’s Cat, the book. It takes a long time for Simon to create new animated webisodes because the process is so labor-intensive. In the latest installment, “Fly Guy,” Simon’s cat gets all obsessive the way cats do over a housefly, and his owner deals with the consequences. [The Daily What]

Quick Video: Adidas SLVRL Fall 2009 Collection

Can we give Adidas an A+ for creativity? Usually, clothing lines create a catalog or look book to show off the latest clothes for the season. But for their SLVR Label Autumn/Winter 2009-2010 collection, Adidas has added a short video that anyone can watch on YouTube. (FYI: The video was directed by Theo Stanley and features music by Sam Wagster, all under the creative direction of Pietsch Lim.)  This one-minute video feels very much like a collage of sound and images, and it’s a cool way to view the clothing, if not a little too artsy. Eh, see what you think.
