Amazingly, Fashion People were undeterred by the foot-plus of snow we received this weekend, and New York Fashion Week carried on as usual. Total champs — we certainly can’t say the same about our weekend, which we spent contained safely indoors in front of the television. It’s not every day that Karl Lagerfeld deems a fashionista worthy of being photographed in Coco Chanel’s iconic former Paris home at 31 Rue Cambon, so it’s kind of remarkable that he chose Victoria Beckham over someone like, say, Blake Lively. I totally thought Blake was his dress-up doll of choice these days. I do have to hand it to Posh for her seamless transition from Spice Girl and football WAG into a well-respected style icon and designer; there aren’t many former pop stars who ever enjoy the same level of high-fashion success. Victoria tweeted photos this week from a recent shoot for Elle France, where she appears alongside Lagerfeld modeling pieces from her new eyewear collection. It finally happened: the Spice Girls reunited for Closing Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics to sing a medley of “Wannabe” and “Spice Up Your Life” atop bling-covered black cabs. Everyone appears … well-preserved. Baby Spice Emma Bunton ditched the kinderwhore look of 1998 and looks decidedly more grown up in her hot pink dress. Earlier this week, Victoria Beckham kindly put us all in our place by posting a photo of her dog Harry wearing one of her dresses. A dress that I definitely can’t afford. Harry was apparently being treated to a dress fitting because he suffered through getting his teeth cleaned. I wonder what Vicky does for David when he goes to the dentist. [Twitter]
