Ben & Jerry’s is showing their support for marriage equality by changing their iconic ice cream flavor “Chubby Hubby” to “Hubby Hubby” as of today. Sept. 1 is the first day gay couples can marry in the state of Vermont, where Ben & Jerry’s is based. First Iowa, now Vermont — it’s been a big week for gay marriage advocates! The Vermont House of Representatives voted with a two-thirds majority to overturn the Governor’s veto of the gay marriage bill — this makes Vermont the first state in the union where lawmakers passed a gay marriage law instead of the courts.
