Typical Valentine’s Day jewelry is big on hearts, and while that shape is quite nice, we like the idea of keys as a symbol of affection even better. See, we already have a blood pumper of our own, so why do we need another one? A key, on the other hand, means that someone wants to let you inside his life — whether it opens his apartment door, or his heart. [$45, Elsewares]

We’re giving away one Erica Weiner skeleton key necklace from Elsewares, but you have to work if you want it. Do you think you should let your significant other know about the skeletons in your closet? Share your advice in the comments by 3:39 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 (that’s tomorrow!). We’ll pick our favorite response and announce the winner. You must live in the U.S. or Canada to win. Good luck!

UPDATE! The winner of the Erica Weiner necklace is taralee for this comment:

I think it really just depends on what the “skeletons” are. I really don’t care about who my husband boned (pun intended) before we got together or how many times he drank excessively and did something regrettable. The past is the past and people change… sometimes. Things that I would like to know about: STDs (current and history), previous convictions to include: rape, murder, assault, etc etc etc and whether or not they live in their mother’s basement. Hey… a girl has got to start somewhere.

Win This! Jenna Leigh Kimono Robe

Happy almost-Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re single or taken, The Frisky wants to be your Valentine. Look for a contest each day leading up to Feb. 14. Prizes will include makeup, books, lingerie, jewelry, and more, but each one only lasts a day — enter now!

Sometimes the sexiest bedroom fashions are the ones that do a better job of covering up than they do revealing. (Plus, most of the time those over-the-top doo-dads are just plain uncomfortable.) Here’s something that’s both cozy and subtly seductive. Jenna Leigh’s jersey kimono robe features a low-cut neckline and super short hem but brings elegance with its draped sleeves and non-traditional peacock color. Of course, half the fun of this style is unwrapping it to reveal what’s underneath. Which, if he’s lucky, might just be nothing. [$96, Jenna Leigh Lingerie]

WIN THIS! We’re giving away one Jenna Leigh Kimono Robe but you have to work if you want it. Tell us how you get your partner in the mood (without lying on the bed naked) in the comments by 3:39 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5 (that’s tomorrow!). We’ll pick our favorite response and announce the winner. You must live in the U.S. or Canada to win. Good luck!

UPDATE! The winner of the Jenna Leigh robe is ootie for this comment:

I have one perfume that I basically only wear for special (sexual) occasions. Now, whenever I put it on, my boyfriend gets instantly horny. I don’t think he’s put it together and realized that I put on a different perfume…the smell now just makes him think of sex.

Thank you for all your comments! (Just reading them sort of got us in the mood.) Keep reading »

Get Some Shut-Eye With Dita

Ever fashionable and classy-styled Dita von Teese is bringing her aesthetic to the bedroom, thanks to Moschino. The retro queen, known for her red lips and soft Hollywood curls, put her design mind to work to create a limited-edition sleep mask for the brand. In the end, Dita fashioned a pink silk-satin eye mask with rhinestone embellishments, feathers and lace with trompe l’oeil eyelash detailing, complete with its very own case (all for $130), so now even falling asleep can become a stylish moment. The Valentine’s Day Survival Guide For Single Chicks

Sometimes it seems like you’re screwed on Valentine’s Day, whether you have a significant other or not. If you’re in a relationship, Hallmark et al. are breathing down your coupled throat, putting on the subliminal pressure to do something meaningful and romantic with your special someone. If you’re single, everyone is expecting you to break down and hide in a corner screaming, “Why me?!” while shaking your fists to the heavens. Can’t we just cross the damn thing off the calendar? No. Not an option.

Now let’s say, hypothetically, for the sake of this discussion, that you are an awesome single chick who begrudgingly acknowledges that V-Day is not going away. How do you live through it? The first thing you do is rejoice in the fact that you don’t have to try to figure out what new Apple gadget to get your boyfriend since you are morally opposed to buying him something called an iPad. Even better, you feel relieved knowing that you don’t have to pretend to be excited when he gets you a box of Whitman’s chocolates from Walgreens and forgets a card. See … isn’t this great? And do you know what is even greater? The fact that you are a strong, independent, happy woman who feels totally content and at peace with being single. Phew. Glad you finally got to that place. So, instead of throwing a pity party for one (that’s so high school), think about this: Valentine’s Day is a day to reflect upon and celebrate the love in your life. The truth is that lots of different people, places, and things fulfill our love quota — not just a significant other. Love is everywhere. (I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s true.) Rather than whine about the love you don’t have, celebrate and expand the love you do have. After the jump, some ideas for surviving Valentine’s Day … single-style. Keep reading »

Quotable: Ashton Kutcher Thinks V-Day Should Be About Hate Not Love

“I hate Valentine’s Day. I think every day should be a day of romance. Then, on Valentine’s Day, you should get to tell whoever you hate that you cannot stand them. There would be one day of hating, and 364 days of love.”

Ashton Kutcher, one of the stars in the movie “Valentine’s Day,” on the holiday it’s named after. Maybe he should check out our “Valentine’s Day Survival Guide“? [People] Keep reading »

We’ll pick our favorite response and announce the winner. You must live in the U.S. or Canada to win. Good luck!

UPDATE! The winner of the Dawn Spencer Hurwitz St. Valentine fragrance is PostcardsFromFarAway for this comment:

“Every type of occasion (work versus leisure) requires a different type of scent. I personally like to pick out a couple of different small (even travel sized!) colognes for the S.O.—something tried and true (based off of his previous tastes) and something new (based off of my tastes). That way, you don’t blow all your cash on one purchase he might not like AND you give him a little eau de variety. wink”
