Urban Dictionary Will Define You

Have you ever looked your name up on Urban Dictionary? Apparently it is the new thing to do and being the follower that I am, I did it. Unlike most name definitions (supposedly, the Germanic origin of my name means “work”), Urban Dictionary’s definitions seem to be far more accurate!

Amelia: A crazy, awesome, loud, lovable girl. Impossible not to be smiling when around her. She lights up the entire room when she comes in. The bestest friend you will ever have. “Amelia did a crazy dance move that only she can pull off!”

The secondary definition is slightly less flattering.

To have sex with blondes; To perform the act of sexual bondage in a way in which some one has a longer erection because of the tightness of the bondage equipment.

Are You Having Trophy Sex?

You’ve heard of the trophy wife, but now trophy sex is turning that convention on its head. According to Guardian U.K. advice columnist, Pamela Stephenson Connolly, the term “trophy sex” is defined as simply seducing a man for his sex candy and then tossing him out like a wrapper once you’ve had your way with him. A lot of independent women enjoy trophy sex as a way of life — confirmed bachelorettes, who are just in it to win it!

Barsexual: Our New Favorite Word

Right now, many American co-eds are having new experiences on Spring Break! From visiting foreign countries to getting baby’s first bikini wax, higher education is all about broadening your horizons. Although LUG (Lesbian Until Graduation) is already in the Urban Dictionary, there’s a new online reference for women who just play gay. We all know sexuality is a spectrum, but on the 1-10 scale, the newly defined barsexual is in the negative numbers. She licks other girls just to make men drool, or, as Urban Dictionary puts it, “A BARSEXUAL girl only kisses them in places that charge a cover.” Oh, snap! Keep reading »

The New Black Is Bloggess

In an age when actresses call themselves actors, “bloggess” has made the urban dictionary. Jennifer Lawson, who coined the term and authors a site under the same name, said in response, “‘Bloggessed’ is the new puce, I am totally overrated, this blog cures cancer.” Although she’s funny, the definition might not be as flattering as this season’s hot color: “A woman whose sense of reality is so warped that she can’t exist outside a blog. A typical bloggess will make-up words, invent illnesses and kill pets in order to post.” That was WAY harsh! We ladies of The Frisky may be warped, but we would never harm an animal. Well, at least Urban Dictionary is equally ‘meh’ in their definition of blogger. Looks like even a “hip” online dictionary can be jealous of where people go for information. [Truemors]
