Since "Ugly Betty" began airing in 2006, the title character has been known for her kooky, not-so-stylish getups. Yes, her wardrobe has progressed in the show's four seasons -- from the Guadalajara poncho she wore in the first episode to the crazy patterned dresses of last season -- especially after Patricia Field took over as costume designer when the show moved to New York last year.

There could be even more drastic changes coming to Betty's closet next season. According to Entertainment Weekly writer Michael Ausiello, ABC has conducted focus groups to get feedback on a major Betty makeover. In scenes watched by the focus group, Betty wears a pastel pink suit in one and a black dress with a ruffled V-neck in another. Are the days of her style-defining mismatched patterns gone? (She's been an inspiration to me on that trend.) Supposedly, she'll also lose her braces at some point. Will Betty be as lovably fallible if she's chic? And are ABC execs changing the entire Ugly Betty character by making her well-groomed?

Now “Ugly Betty” fans can sip soda from a pink leopard-print Diet Coke bottle designed by Patricia Field. They even come with stickers that you can put anywhere! For now, these bottles are only available in the U.K., but Patricia Field’s boutique and “Ugly Betty” are both based in New York City, so we know it’s only a matter of time before these tacky things come here. • Jessica Simpson Do You Know Simpson’s new country record, Do You Know, begs the questions, do you care?  The change in sound from pop to her Texas roots is supposed to be a fresh new image for this bottle blonde, but she still sounds ready made.

We’re extremely excited about the return of either of our favorite shows this fall, but we’ve realized that a season finale refresher is in order. Hey, when our lives and our homies’ lives have real cliffhangers, we can’t be expected to remember months later what happened to our friends on TV, too. Amidst the sea of size zeros flooding Hollywood, Ugly Betty star America Ferrera serves as a refreshing testament to the fact that you don’t need to be a stick to look amazing and pull off an array of styles. Whether she’s decked out in designer duds on the red carpet or keeping it fun and casual in a pair of jeans, America knows what she’s got and is finely in tune with how to show it off to perfection which is why she is this week’s date-night muse!

ABC has hired one of the writers from Dawson’s Creek, Maggie Friedman, to recreate the 1987 classic, The Witches of Eastwick, into a new TV pilot. We’re so psyched—and not just because we’ll be saving the movie theater ticket price!  Just like the film, the TV adaptation will be loosely based on the John Updike book about three women who were stuck, jilted by their husbands, in the same small New England town.  Together they use some womanly wizardry to summon up a man to satisfy them, but he’s (of course) more trouble than he’s worth.  Now, the original cast was slammin’: Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon, and Jack Nicholson. But since the teen drama is totally BACK—hello, Gossip Girl and 90210—which teen TV queens can hold a candle up to the spell they cast today? We here at The Frisky have some suggestions:

• The Devil, originally played by the irresistible Jack Nicholson, has some big sexy shoes to fill. It’s gonna take a guy who’s so seductive, he’s evil.  We’re thinking Gossip Girl’s bad boy, Ed Westwick because he can make women do anything—even like plaid short-shorts on a guy. Plus “Westwick does Eastwick” makes a great headline. Come to think of it, “Westwick Falls In Love With The Women Of The Frisky” does have a certain ring to it too…

Being a woman of a certain age in Hollywood hasn’t been a desirable thing for a while, and roles tend to be few and far between once supple skin gets a little saggy and wrinkly. However, as much as we obsess over young celebs, it was the more established female crowd that won out in this year’s Emmy nominations. Only one actress nominated for an award, Ugly Betty‘s America Ferrera, is in her 20s. Almost all the Emmy-nominated actresses are older than 40, and those in their 40s are the young ones. Kyra Sedgwick, 42, is the youngest nominee for lead actress in a drama series (The Closer), and Laura Linney is the youngest to be nominated for lead actress in a miniseries or movie at age 44 (HBO’s John Adams). “People want to tune in to complex, interesting, quirky, unexpected, flawed characters, and that’s across the board, female and male,” said Rachel Griffiths, 39, nominated for Brothers & Sisters. “But the more mature actors maybe have an edge on confidence in terms of really owning those characters. I think as a young woman it’s considerably more difficult to amplify your unusual parts in quite the same way.” Why, because young women’s perky boobs are so distracting? However, it’s still a sad state in the world of movies. Like, WTF, Meryl Streep isn’t even mentioned on the movie posters for Mama Mia!?. However, after reading some of the movie’s reviews, maybe that’s better for her career. [AP]

When I first saw the poster for the movie The Other Boleyn Girl with Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Eric Bana, and Jim Sturgess, I thought, Wow. That necklace looks really familiar.
