At the beginning of March, mixed martial arts fighter Fallon Fox came out as transgender. The 36-year-old had been participating as a female competitor in MMA competitions for six years, and was forced to address the fact that she was born male after a reporter discovered her secret. In mid-March, UFC host Joe Rogan slammed Fox, saying she’s “not really a woman.” And today, UFC fighter Matt Mitrione was quoted on the webcast “The MMA Hour” making derogatory comments about Fox.   • Joe Rogan, the voice of the UFC fighting league, says that Fallon Fox, the MMA fighter who recently came out as a trans woman, should not be allowed to fight with cisgendered women (i.e. people who are born female). Most offensively, Rogan said Fallon Fox is not really a woman. “I don’t care if you don’t have a dick anymore,” said Rogan, in a long, crass commentary. “You’re a man without a dick.” [TMZ]
  • Malala Yousufzai, the Pakistani teen who was shot by the Taliban for advocating on behalf of girls’ education, has returned to school, now in the UK, today. [Reuters]
  • Employers in Missouri are no longer allowed to deny contraceptive coverage in their employees’ insurance based on their own beliefs following a ruling by a federal judge on Monday. The law is an unconstitutional violation of the Affordable Care Act. [Feminist.org]
  • An Air Force instructor from Joint Base San Antionio-Lackland has been sentenced to four years in prison for raping a female trainee. [ABC News]
  • Last week, a mother in New York City attempted to commit suicide with her baby strapped to her body. The child survived, but Cynthia Wachenheim did not. On January 26, FOX is set to air an Ultimate Fighting Championship fight with MMA fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who last April posted a video on the YouTube channel for FilmOn in which he jokingly attempted to rape a woman. He in the video, he advises viewers to use choloroform to “help her relax” and suggests purchasing zip ties. Also in the video, Jackson says he hopes the woman he attempts to rape “got low self-esteem.” A clip from the video shows Jackson dressed in all black, sneaking up behind a woman with her back turned while she’s opening her car door. Worst of all, this video is entitled “How To Pick Up A Gurl … Fast.”

Let me remind you again: FOX and UFC want to put this guy on TV.
