Filmmaker Bjorn Floki first became acquainted with James William Ross IV when he won “RuPaul’s Drag Race” — as drag fabulous Tyra Sanchez. He later came to know Ross as not just a crowd-pleasing performer, but also as a father. Ross is the father of a six-year-old boy named Jeremiah, and navigates his double life as a parent and drag queen with deft skill and humor. Floki is working on a documentary about the pair — and about Ross’s journey — in order to shed light on how non-traditional families are just as magical as conventional mom/dad/kid units. He’s using his Kickstarter campaign to finish the film and get it released to a wider audience.
