Quotable: Janice Dickinson Was Confused About Tyra’s Sex

“She’s huge. She’s a big woman. I used to think she was a man. I used to look at her and think, ‘Something isn’t right here.”

– Janice Dickinson, who’s still drinking that Haterade after allegedly being fired from “America’s Next Top Model” by Tyra Banks for calling her “fat.” Well, in Janice’s defense, TyTy does have a RuPaul thing happening. But is Janice anyone to talk? [Starpulse] Keep reading »

“ANTM” Gets Some Free American Apparel Ho-Wear

OK, so I don’t know for sure that the model wannabes competing in Cycle 14 of “America’s Next Top Model” are wearing American Apparel, but their monokinis, leotards, and jewel-tone tights look an awful lot like Dov Charney‘s wares. Too bad the new crop of hopefuls aren’t as interesting as the “models” on the American Apparel site, but at least Gabrielle tried. I will say, though, that the contestants do look sort of intriguing, which means I’ll be screaming, “I hate you, Tyra Banks,” at my TV screen for at least one more season. Will you watch “America’s Next Top Model” Cycle 14 when it premieres March 10 at 8 p.m. on The CW? [Starpulse] Keep reading »

Tyra Banks Wants To Turn A Plus-Size Teen Into A Model

Tyra Banks might be ending her talk show, but that doesn’t mean she’s out of ideas. Tyra recently announced her latest project — a modeling competition for plus-size teens only, called the Fiercely Real Teen Model Search. “I’ve always felt it was my mission to expand the narrow perceptions of beauty … I challenge industry and universal standards by featuring and celebrating non-traditional beauty, and stressing that true beauty is both inside and out,” she told Us Weekly. So TyTy is calling on teens between the ages of 13 and 19 to enter her modeling competition. The contestants must wear a dress size of 12 to 20. And shorties need not apply — only teens who are between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall will be considered. Tyra will announce the finalists on the March 2 episode of the “The Tyra Show,” and the winner will be revealed the next day on the talk show. Keep reading »

Shocker! Employees Say Tyra Is A Tyrant

Now that Tyra Banks has announced this season of “The Tyra Show” will be her last, disgruntled employees are bitching to the gossip rags about their “difficult” supermodel boss. “There had been high turnover of employees for years,” a source told New York Daily News, dishing that the show allegedly had a lot of unhappy employees during the five years on air. “She and the higher-ups on the production staff could be extremely brutal … She really is a diva.” Another source added, “Everything had to be done Tyra’s way.” Somehow we don’t find these shocking allegations too hard to believe. Boo! Tyra Banks Is Ending “The Tyra Show” This Year

Bummer, dude! Tyra Banks has announced that after five years of fierceness, this season of “The Tyra Show” will be her last. No more period shows? No more slut-shaming sexually active teen girls? No more women who hit their boyfriends? No more trampling fetishes? And worst of all, no more “smeyesing“? Whatever will we watch on daytime TV now? Keep reading »

Judge Shake-Up On “ANTM” Sounds Too Far-Fetched To Believe

Back when former supermodel Paulina Porizkova was ousted from her position as judge on “America’s Next Top Model,” we gave you our dream replacement list that included Naomi Campbell, Agyness Deyn, and Kate Moss. Never did we imagine that Kimora Lee Simmons would return to the show as a permanent judge after leaving the first season. And I was all ready to report that my favorite supermodel-turned-mogul was going to out-fierce Tyra Banks on her own show, but, sadly, the CW is denying this report. Something needs to happen, though, to save this sinking ship, which had its worst ratings during Cycle 13. Find out the other bizarre rumor after the jump. Keep reading »

Miss J Reveals He’s A Father On “Tyra”

“Runway diva coach extraordinaire,” Miss J. Alexander, who is promoting his book Follow the Model, was on “The Tyra Show” yesterday and gave what was actually a totally refreshing and interesting interview. I was surprised, frankly, because Miss J plays such a caricature on “America’s Next Top Model,” and I didn’t expect to see him drop the flamboyant antics in favor of getting real. He revealed to the audience that he’s a father to a young boy, who was conceived after he and his ex-boyfriend both donated sperm to a female friend who wanted to have a child. While his sperm didn’t take (the ex’s sperm did), he’s very involved in young Alex’s life. It was fabulous to get a glimpse into the real Miss J. Keep reading »

Eddie Murphy Will Join Tyra On “Top Model” Finale

Oh, “America’s Next Top Model,” how we wish you were still a good show! Too bad two more people are about to be dragged down by this show. A CW source has revealed that Eddie Murphy (as if he could get any lower after denying he fathered Scary Spice’s baby) will appear alongside Tyra Banks and the other judges during the final fashion show, which will feature designs from Julie Clancy. He won’t be there to judge but rather to cheer on his daughter Bria Murphy, who will walk the runway with the remaining contestants. Bria is following in the footsteps of her mother Nicole Murphy with this career choice. [E! Online] Keep reading »

Tyra Banks Celebrates Halloween As A Kardashian

At first glance, it may seem like Tyra isn’t looking any different than she usually does on the Halloween episode of her show (which airs tomorrow). But then you may notice that her booty is a little curvier, her hair a tad darker and waved just so, and her stance eerily familiar. There’s clearly a thin line between Tyra and Kim Kardashian, and this Halloween costume is either totally genius or incredibly blah. Your verdict? (Preview of the episode is after the jump.) Tyra Jumps On The Blackface Bandwagon

ET Online has posted photos from tonight’s (?) episode of “America’s Next Top Model” in which Tyra has the models, uh, transform to look biracial, which means many of them pose with blackface. So hot right now! Of course, if Tyra were writing this post, she would be quick to remind us that she was ahead of the curve — in Cycle 4, which aired in 2005, the models dressed up as mothers of other races and there was some blackface then too. Check out a few more images, after the jump. [ET Online] Keep reading »
