Charlie Sheen isn’t even on “Two and a Half Men” anymore, but his legacy continues— his legacy of womanizing, that is. I am referring to the newest “Two” character, played by Amber Tamblyn, Charlie Harper’s daughter who — wait for it — is also a womanizer.
Sure, it’s a sign of progress that an actress will play a lesbian on one of the country’s most mainstream of mainstream of shows. (Although I’m scratching my head as to why Tamblyn, who acts in abortion rights PSAs and edits the poetry section of BUST magazine, would join the cast.) But it’s just a little bit frustrating that as Charlie Harper’s kid, Tamblyn’s character Jenny is basically serving as a female stand-in for her womanizing father. There was a hole for a tomcat and they plugged it up with a lesbian character. Keep reading »
Remember a couple of days ago when Angus T. Jones, the “half” on “Two And A Half Men,” had a major video freak out, and told fans of the show that the sitcom was utter filth? Yeah, that was pretty crazy. Well, now Rainn Wilson and Craig Robinson of “The Office” offer a similar warning to their viewers. You just knew Dwight Shrute wouldn’t actually approve of a show about Dwight Shrute, right? [YouTube]
Not that we disagree with him, but why would Angus T. Jones call his own show, “Two and a Half Men,” ”filth”—especially considering the show has made him filthy rich? His mom tells the Daily Mail she’s concerned he’s being “exploited” by his Seventh-Day Adventist church, the same church for which he was filming “testimony” when he made the statement. Jones mentioned in the video that some of his family members feared he was joining a “cult.” (The New York Post notes that Jones’ parents have some skeletons in their closet, with both mom and dad having criminal pasts.) Oh noes, ladies! The menz! What about the menz!?!? How will they ever have a chance of conquering Western civilization if we keep oppressing them so? These are the concerns of “Two and a Half Men” co-creator Lee Aronsohn, who is fretting about the overrepresentation of women on television. Yesterday, at the Toronto Screenwriting Conference, Aronsohn huffed, “Enough ladies. I get it. You have periods.” Keep reading »
The new season of “Ellen” kicks off on Monday, and she has a very special celebrity guest—Ashton Kutcher. Apparently, Ashton was surprised by the reaction his naked billboard for “Two and a Half Men” got. So he decided to do the interview without clothes. “It’s getting a lot of attention. So I just figured I’m going to do everything nude from now on,” he said. “Whatever I’m doing I’m just going to do it nude.” Sounds like a plan to us. [People]

Ashton Kutcher has just begun shooting his first episode of “Two and a Half Men.” While we already knew that this episode would feature Charlie Harper’s—akaCharlie Sheen‘s—funeral. But we didn’t know how he died. Luckily, TMZ has the answers. Apparently, Charlie had just headed to Paris to elope on the show. And he met his end when he slipped on a subway platform and was hit by an oncoming train. The show apparently implies that his new wife might have given him a little push when she found out he was unfaithful. Furthermore, at his funeral, she calls the accident a “meat explosion.” Which, gross!
But Charlie Sheen isn’t fazed. Keep reading »
