I have my doubts about Kristen Stewart’s capabilities as a dramatic actress, but I’ll gladly take her as a red carpet presence: in the last few months (or, really, publicity rounds) she seems to have emerged from her cocoon of hideously uncomfortable public awkwardness to flit around like a sneaker-clad fledgling butterfly (if only she would keep her damn hands out of her hair!). As far as beauty goes, the “Twilight” actress (duh) rarely ventures outside of a semi-safe smoky eye/nude lip or clean eye/red lip scheme, but this weekend’s appearance at Comic-Con saw her switching it up in the most on-trend way possible. “Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1″ had the wedding, the gown (!), and sexy vampire sexy sex. Oh, and shirtless werewolf hunks. Now the trailer for the last movie in the “Twilight” series, “Breaking Dawn, Part 2,” is here and there’s no way it can compare. The final part of the saga is all about Bella and Edward trying to protect their daughter Renesmee — who, this being a “Twilight” movie, is fearing for her life — and an epic werewolf/vampire battle with the Volturi. Twi-hards may be into it, but as a somewhat apathetic fan, I really think I could skip this one. But of course, I will take my movie-going cues from noted cinéaste James Franco, per usual.
For a long time, Kristen Stewart was sort of the postergirl for slacker style. When she’d go to premieres and events it seems like she’d barely even bother running a comb through her hair. But these days? Maybe she’s gotten a stylist, or maybe she’s simply looked through a few pictures from past events, but she’s cleaned up quite nicely! Now we can’t wait to see what she wears to the premiere of her upcoming film, “Snow White and the Huntsman.” (I guess having a boyfriend that’s almost as pretty as you can’t hurt either.) After the jump, we cull through and find Stewart’s surprising 10 best looks!
Ladies, your man must really love you, if he is willing to give in and let you do a “Twilight”-inspired engagement photo sesh. That’s at least my thinking behind the engagement photos of couple Lindsay and Ferdinand, which attempt to exactly replicate all the vampire angst of the movie series. More pics after the jump. Attention Twihards! Be honest … could you imagine anyone other than Kristen Stewart playing Bella Swan in the “Twilight” series? Well, there was once a time when producers weren’t sure who they would cast, and actress Michelle Trachtenberg claims the role could have been hers. Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the first “Twilight” film, was apparently interested in possibly casting Michelle, who she knew fromalmost (so many close calls with this one!) hiring her for the movie “Thirteen.” Apparently Hardwicke thought Trachtenberg would be a good fit for the quiet, vaguely sullen future vampire lover. “Absolutely, and as a pro-choice feminist, that was certainly my concern going in. No matter what, I would not have done this movie if it violated my own beliefs — I would have just walked away — so I had to find a way into it that was in line with my own thinking and yet not violating anyone else’s beliefs. So that was probably one of the initial challenges of it. I’ve also heard the comment that Bella is the one who’s constantly sacrificing, and wow, I never saw her as someone who sacrificed anything. If anyone’s sacrificing anything, it’s Edward, because from the very beginning — and certainly in this film — she knows what she wants and goes for it, hell or high water. She’s perhaps even a little selfish because she’s so driven for what she wants. ‘Okay, so I die and Edward’s broken-hearted for the rest of eternity? Well, tough luck, I’m going for it anyway.’ She’s very clear, and frankly, I see her as a very strong character. Do other people see her as someone who sacrifices? Absolutely, but I’ve never written her that way, and it actually took me by surprise.”

Thousands of dedicated fans turned out over the weekend to see “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.” But for one teenage girl, the tragedy of not making it was a lot worse than choosing between Jacob or Edward.
Police in Illinois arrested an “extremely upset” 18-year-old girl on Saturday after she told authorities that she crashed her car because her boyfriend did not take her to see the new “Twilight” movie.
Cops found Olivia Christina Ornelas “extremely intoxicated” and after discovering her car, missing the front right tire and spun out in a ditch off Route 71, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Read more…
