Book Club: Read Twilight With Us Before The Movie Hits Theaters

When we first heard about the upcoming movie “Twilight,” we were interested mainly because Robert Pattinson stars in it, and he’s extremely good looking. We had never read any of the books or heard of author Stephenie Meyer. And then we started seeing trailers for the movie, and we were even more intrigued. Now, Amelia, Annika, and I have decided to read Twilight before we see the movie, which comes out Nov. 21, and we’re starting today. There are just two-and-a-half weeks before the movie hits theaters, and the book has 498 pages, but we think it can be done, and we want you to join us! For next Wednesday, we’re reading the first 12 chapters. Come visit The Frisky on Nov. 12 to discuss it, whether you’re reading it for the first time or the seventh. Keep reading »

Does The Twilight Series Promote Abstinence?

I’m going to have to go with “Yes, sort of.” Being that Twilight‘s author, Stephanie Meyers, is a devout Mormon, I didn’t really expect to crack open the first book and get some vampire erotica. Add to that the fact that the books’ target audience is supposed to be teenagers, and you’re going to be disappointed if you wanted a blow-by-blow description of how blood suckers are in the sack. You’ll have to watch “True Blood” for that. Keep reading »

Robert Pattinson Records Song For “Twilight” Movie

So, I basically spent the weekend reading “Twilight” and have moved on to the second book in the series and needless to say I’m hooked. More on that later, but in the meantime, Robert Pattinson recorded a song for the movie, out November 21, called “Never Think.” It’s quite Jeff Buckley-esque. Listen to it after the jump… Keep reading »

The Boob Tube: Hot Weekend TV For November 1st-2nd 2008

This weekend “Biography” highlights the four key players in the presidential election, just in time for Election Day, this Tuesday November 4th. And if you’re as enthralled with the resurgence of vampire culture as we are, check out the BIO channel on Saturday for “Secret Life of Vampires” at 5 pm. The program will be a study of vampire legends and the impact on pop culture. On Sunday you can watch “True Blood,” which dispels some vampire legends and fully embraces others. See what other Frisky-esque shows are airing this weekend after the jump. Keep reading »

Quote Of The Day: Robert Pattinson On “Twilight” Pressure

“Every 13-year-old girl in the entire country has read this ["Twilight"], and you can almost guarantee wherever you go you’ll hear, ‘Oh my god! It’s Edward Cullen.’ …I’m sort of signed on for another two, but it’s all dependent on what happens at the box office.” — Robert Pattinson to Variety Keep reading »

New “Twilight” Trailer: This Movie Is Going To Suck (Blood)

Forget it. I am so excited to see this movie. The new trailer for “Twilight” is out and dang, it looks pretty awesome and I’m not just saying that because Robert Pattinson makes my loins burn in the pleasurable way (as opposed to the bladder infection way). So tell me, “Twilight” fans, which of the books should I read in anticipation of the film? I want to walk into the theater with an understanding of the “Twilight” universe. Keep reading »

Twilight Hottie Robert Pattinson SINGS!

The actor performed a solo performance at L.A.’s Whiskey A-Go-Go on Wednesday night and I think he kind of has a Damien Rice vibe. Not too shabby! Keep reading »

Five Things You Didn’t Know About Robert Pattinson

For starters, you might not actually know much of anything about the model-turned-actor (turned musician!) who was once a Daily Hotness. First spotted as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies, the 22-year old is sure to be the next big thing thanks to the upcoming vampire movie “Twilight” (based on the series of novels by Stephanie Meyer), in which Pattinson plays lead vamp Edward Cullen. He’s been dubbed “the next Jude Law” by the British press, but what more is there to know about this hunk across the pond? Oh, so much. Keep reading »

10 Fall Movies We Can’t Wait To See

While we enjoyed some of the films from summer movie blockbuster season (Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants! Step Brothers! The Dark Knight!), we hated others (yuck, Hancock) and are looking forward to a new crops of flicks this Fall. Here are the ten we’re highly anticipating.

Twilight Release date: December 12

  • Why we’re psyched: Fans are totally psyched about the novels, so the film has to be good.
  • What could go wrong: It’s hard for vampire movies to avoid being campy and predictable.

10 Hotter Vampires Than Edward Cullen In Twilight

Vampires are back baby, in a little movie that’s got a whole lot of underground buzz called Twilight — check out the trailer above. Based on a series of young adult novels by Stephanie Meyer, the film is seriously all the kiddies are talking about on the internet it seems. So, because I like to be hip with the young crowd, I decided to do some research. For starters, Twilight is a love story between an average, beautiful heroine named Bella and a vampire named Edward Cullen (played by the hottie who was Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter). What’s awesome about Edward and his family is that they are totally rebellious and abstain from drinking human blood and drink animal blood instead — friends of PETA they are not. Anyway, it reminded me of my own youth, spent crushing on goth boys, and I decided to put together a list of the Hottest Vampires. Keep reading »
