Lifetime Has Cast Their Ariel Castro For “The Michelle Knight Story”

Lifetime Has Cast Their Ariel Cruz For "The Michelle Knight Story"

Lifetime has a reputation for toeing the line of good taste, but this is just … ugh. The network behind previously aired controversial Made For TV movies about the demise of Brittany Murphy, the disappearance of Natalie Holloway and the Amanda Knox trial, to name a few, has just signed on Raymond Cruz to play Ariel Castro in “The Michelle Knight Story.” Keep reading »

Lifetime Already Planning “Flowers In The Attic” Sequel

Don't Do It, Sally Draper!

Lifetime’s TV movie adaptation of V.C. Andrews’ classic trashy read Flowers in the Attic has not even aired yet, but the network must be confident that incestuous romances are ratings gold, because they’re already planning to produce a sequel. Petals on the Wind is the second book in Andrews’ Dollanganger family series and follows the three remaining children after their escape from their evil grandmother’s attic and their mother’s attempts to poison them. Don’t worry! There’s still plenty of incestuous feelings, creepy old men, and a return to Foxworth Hall, as Cathy (Kiernan Shipka) plots to enact revenge against her mother and grandmother. I can only pray that every other pervert like me, who spent hours locked in their bedrooms, dog-earing the pages of V.C.’s books, actually tunes in for both these films, because I would personally love to see the third and fourth books adapted as well. And then the Casteel family series should be next! I could totally envision Lindsay Lohan as Heaven…

Anyway, “Flowers in the Attic” premiere January 18. Check out the extended trailer above! [Hollywood Reporter]

The Lifetime Original “House Of Versace” Preview Is Here, And It’s Amazing

Gina Gershon is Donatella Versace in "House of Versace"
Did I Stutter?

Lovers of fashion, lovers of drama, lovers of crazy, lovers of Gina Gershon, lovers of Lifetime original movies: LOOK ALIVE, because “House of Versace,” premiering October 5, has all y’all covered — and in neon animal print and diamond studs, to boot. Donatella Versace as she exists in the material world is a real-life character, so it takes an unbelievably convincing actress to pull off the role without making a caricature of it, and from the looks of this just-released extended preview, Gershon is just the lady to do it. Ahhhhhhh-mazing. Best thing I’ve seen all day. (I mean, besides this.) [via Fashionista]

Did you watch the Ian Ziering-helmed SyFy ridiculousness that is “SharkNado” last night? Because I did! And it was … amazing! And … informative! And I think I might be ready to pursue a career as a meteoranimalogist (that’s the guy who predicts the next and latest combo-predatory animal/extreme weather). For anybody who for some stupid reason missed “SharkNado,” here’s what it’s about: The oceans flood, biblical-style, off the cost of Santa Monica, and the sharks are pissed! At the same time, a triple tornado strikes the city of Los Angeles. This creates a literal perfect storm of extreme weather and shark attacks. The movie stars Tara Reid, Ian Ziering and John Heard (who, OMG, what happened to you, dad from “Home Alone”?). It is predictably terrible, but I learned many things, like… Keep reading »
