I started watching “Justified” because my boyfriend has a huge crush on Timothy Olyphant, who plays the main character, Raylan Givens. By the end of the first episode I’d discovered that it’s humanly impossible to not have a crush on Timothy Olyphant, but I was also intrigued by another character: Raylan’s ex-wife, Winona. Not only does she have the best name ever (I would know), she’s smart, tough, complicated, and she’s got great style: her court reporter job calls for pencil skirts and pretty blouses in a muted palette. Snooki Paid $32K To Speak At Rutgers—$2K More Than They’re Paying Toni Morrison

On Thursday night, Snooki spoke at Rutgers University in New Jersey, just a short drive from Seaside Heights, and pulled in a crowd of 2,000 students. “When you’re tan, you feel better about yourself,” she said, as words of wisdom for the students. “Study hard, but party harder.” Parents, of course, are up in arms about this. Especially when the news broke that Rutgers paid Snooki an insanely whopping $32,000 for her appearance. That’s $10,000 more than the school’s annual tuition and housing fees. And it’s also $2,000 more than the university paid will pay Toni Morrison, famed author and Nobel Prize winner, for her commencement address last this year.

So I don’t get in trouble for posting about this, gasp, 11 hours after the episode aired, SPOILERS AHEAD. Got that?

OK. So, last night was the premiere of “Project Runway” on Lifetime, which Jessica liveblogged. Personally, I was slightly underwhelmed. None of the designers stood out to me yet, except one, but not because of her design talents. Ari Fish is a straight-up Samantha Ronson doppelganger, which became somewhat awkward when it was revealed that Lindsay Lohan was the guest judge. I Dream Of Jeannie Coming To Theaters, But Hopefully Not So Sexist?

From Broadway to Hollywood, the entertainment industry is all about remakes. Most of the time, the threat is not staying true to the original (um, the upcoming Smurfs movie that’s going to be live action?!). But in the case of the I Dream of Jeannie remake, our fear is it actually resembling the misogynistic capers of the early 60’s anti-feminist classic. Now, far be it for we NASA-loving Frisky gals to smack talk an astronaut in the space program heyday. However, the fictitious Major Nelson is a totally ungrateful do-bag that Jeannie calls “master.” Ick. Plus Jeannie never gets credit for always saving the day and she clearly runs the show! Although, perhaps there’s hope for the remake to right the wrongs of the antiquated TV show. Slated to write the screenplay is Mulan’s Rita Hsaio. So fingers crossed, she’ll empower this woman too.
