The Good, The Bad & The WTF: Biting Into “True Blood” Episode 3
“True Blood” season four had been off to a phenomenal start, with two episodes that caught us up on where the characters had been for the past year and set up all sorts of plot twists, turns, and unexpected staking for the weeks to come. So it was inevitable that we had to get a dud at some point. [For what it's worth, I have to say, I LOVED last night's episode. -- Amelia] And that’s just what last night’s episode felt like—filler that didn’t get us very far in the journey from point A to point B. Has Joe Manganiello Gotten Too Beefy?
My relationship with Joe Manganiello goes way back. It started when he appeared in a bit part on “How I Met Your Mother.” Wow, that guy is hot, I thought. A few years later, the same gorgeous face appeared as a heartbroken werewolf on “True Blood” with a prediliction for taking his shirt off. I swooned. Joe has yet to make an appearance in the two episodes of “TB” season four that have aired so far, which is highly disappointing. So today, when I caught a glimpse Joe’s cover of Muscle & Fitness magazine, it was the first time we’d come face to face in months. And I freaked. Anna Paquin Talks Sex Scenes, Watching Fans Fawn Over Stephen Moyer
“Maybe it should be weird, simulating sex with your husband in front of people. But it’s really not. When it’s a love scene with someone you actually love it’s not, ‘Can I touch him here, can I touch him there?’ You know what your boundaries are, or aren’t I suppose … There is probably something wrong with me, but I find it amusing to watch these men and women fawn all over him. It’s not like anyone is really trying to do anything inappropriate. They just him to hug them … or bite them.”

Tara Says Her Lesbian Love On “True Blood” Is The Real Thing
“When I first got the script, I thought [Tara's new direction] was great … I think [Tara] needed a new lease on life. She totally comes back more zen, and she’s a feisty season one Tara who we all loved … I don’t think [Tara] was expecting [a lesbian relationship]. I think it just happened. I think it was one of those things where you just fall in love with who you fall in love with. I don’t think she labels herself as one thing or the next. She just started hanging out and the next thing you know, she was in love. I don’t think she was in love with Eggs. Every time she was with him she was either stoned or under a spell. I don’t think that was real. I think it’s going to take her some time to realize that, but I think what she has now is a little more significant.”

The Good, The Bad & The WTF: “True Blood” Season 4 Starts With A Bite
Last night’s season premiere of “True Blood” was as sprinkled with faerie dust as I ever could have hoped for. Since HBO decided to release the first six minutes of the episode weeks ago—which is kind of like the television equivalent of a drug dealer giving you your first dose free—I was wondering what tricks Alan Ball and crew would have up their sleeve. (If you haven’t watched yet, SPOILER ALERT.) And this was the big twist: although Sookie is only in the faerie realm for a few minutes, she was missing from Bon Temps, Louisiana, for a year and two weeks. In fact, everyone—from sheriff Bellefleur to Bill to Jason—had presumed her dead. The joy of last night’s episode was catching up with all the characters we love and seeing where they ended up a year later, sans Sookie.

“True Blood” Gothic
This just might be my favorite Entertainment Weekly cover ever. Since Sunday night brings the “True Blood” season four premiere, EW has issued three covers featuring Anna Paquin posing “American Gothic”-style alongside Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Maganeillo, and her real-life husband Stephen Moyer. My fave is this Alexander one, because both of them have such perfect expressions. My least favorite has to be the Joe version, which you can check out after the jump. Fairies Aren’t So Sweet On “True Blood”
T-minus 19 days until the season premiere of “True Blood.” Luckily, HBO isn’t going to leave us fiending for that long. They’ve now released the first six minutes of the premiere episode (an extra three minutes on top of what we posted last week!). What to expect: fairies, forbidden glowing fruit, Sookie’s grandfather, and an evil fairy plot.
