Joe Manganiello Of “True Blood” Has A Stalker Problem

Joe Manganiello of “True Blood” is, apparently, a stalker magnet. Even before permanently losing his shirt for the role of Alcide, Joe had a few rabid followers. “I’ve had two crazy stalkers that, ah, one would call and leave these really weird poems on my phone. Another one would send these creepy pictures to my house,” he said. “I was at the police station filing this report and the police officer’s trying to figure out who these guys are and I kind of looked at him and shrugged my shoulders and said, ‘It’s never a hot chick.’ And he just kind of stared at me.”

But since “True Blood”‘s new season started, things have gotten much worse. Keep reading »

Do The “True Blood” Action Figures Do The Actors Justice?

OK, so technically these are “busts” not action figures since they don’t have legs and aren’t really meant to be played with. In other words, you can’t make Bill, Sookie, and Eric have a threesome by rubbing their figurines together the way I might have done with Barbie, Ken, and Midge, but I digress. Bill and Sookie’s busts are pretty accurate, but Eric’s does not even come close to capturing ASkar’s essence, at least in the face. The body is pretty hot though. For a toy, er, display piece I mean. [$69.99 each, HBO] Keep reading »

After Edward: What Will Be The Next Big Post-Vampire Craze?

Team Edward or Team Jacob. “True Blood” and “The Vampire Diaries.” It’s clear that blood-sucking vampires are having a cultural moment. In fact, since the first “Twilight” movie was released in 2008, vampire-related products have grossed more than $7 billion worldwide. That’s a whole lot of blood at the bloodbank.

But “Twilight” and “True Blood” won’t be around forever (sad but true). So we’ve provided a list of several hot-to-trot contenders ready to replace the vampire craze with all the Burger King merchandising tie-ins your heart desires. Keep reading »

Who Needs Sookie Anyway?

Yeah, I would have preferred a more homoerotic pose on Rolling Stone‘s “True Blood” cover too. Only, I would have thrown in a naked and bloody Alcide for a little extra testosterone. [Camp Blood] Keep reading »

Quotable: “True Blood” Creator Alan Ball Takes A Shot At “Twilight”

“To me, vampires are sex. I don’t get a vampire story about abstinence. I’m 53. I don’t care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed.”

– Alan Ball, who brought “True Blood” to the masses, takes a well-deserved shot at Stephenie Meyer‘s Twilight series, which I hear has implied sex in the fourth novel that I’m too frustrated to read. [Just Jared] Keep reading »

Quotable: Alexander Skarsgard Doesn’t Need A Sock

“I don’t want a sock around it, that feels ridiculous. If we’re naked in the scene, then I’m naked. I’ve always been that way.”

Alexander Skarsgard doesn’t wear anything to cover his junk when he’s filming nude scenes for “True Blood,” and I, for one, am grateful. [Rolling Stone] Keep reading »

Quotable: Talbot Dishes On His “True Blood” Sex Scene With Eric

“I went back to my trailer and I concentrated. I did some acting exercises. I was playing the archetype of a lover, so I put on a sexy, slow song and almost did like a belly dance … Many people told me, ‘Oh, just close your eyes and think of him as a woman.’ But no, because that is a totally different energy … I had to open myself to be able to actually be attracted to him, like, really attracted to him … I’m glad I did it, because every time you face your fears you move forward. But my mother will get the DVD without that scene.”

—Theo Alexander, who plays Talbot on “True Blood,” describes how he got ready for his big sex scene with Alexander Skarsgard‘s Eric. We would not require any preparation. [People] Keep reading »

Quotable: Kristin Bauer Says She’ll Always Be Hungry As Long As She’s In Hollywood

“The other day I realized as long as I’m in this business, I’m going to be hungry. The camera really does add 10 pounds. I’m trying to stay under the weight I want to look like on TV. It’s a good incentive to stay slim and is probably adding years to my life … I’m vegetarian, so I live on carbs, but it’s always an effort. After any wardrobe fitting, I hit the gym three times more than the week before. All the women walk by craft services and keep going. I don’t even know why we walk by, we’re just torturing ourselves. Alex [Skarsgard] and Joe [Manganiello], they’re trying to add size, but we’re all working out like crazy and have diets. Skarsgard seems to be the only one that works out a lot and eats a lot and does fine.”

Kristin Bauer, who plays Pam on “True Blood,” explains how she keeps her body latex and bare midriff ready. [Us Weekly] Keep reading »

Quotable: Joe Manganiello Gets In Touch With His Inner Animal

“I feel like I’ve been pretending I was a werewolf since I was a little kid. But it takes work. It’s about dialect work… I’m not going to lie–it’s about going to the gym. It’s a lot about letting it all go, remembering when you were a crazy primal kid running around and screaming. I wouldn’t tell anyone to study werewolves–I studied wolves, how they moved, their tendencies and sensibilities.”

Joe Manganiello chows down on some pizza and talks about playing sexy werewolf Alcide on “True Blood” in the latest issue of Interview. [Interview via Just Jared] Keep reading »
