The Ladies Of The Cut Go Peplums-Out And Take Trends For A Test Drive In NYC

The peplum is definitely à la mode (thanks, Alber!), and why not? It’s a flattering style that serves to hug and highlight your best assets while helping to draw attention away from the rest — sounds pretty convincing to me! However, the question remains: exactly how wearable is this high-fashion trend? Can normal (read: non-model or celebrity) people pull off sporting a peplum on, say, the subway commute to work? NY Mag’s style and industry blog The Cut, who’s always there to hook it up with the more avant-garde test drives, sent three of their employees out into the field wearing peplums to see how they fared amongst the masses. I should probably mention that by “the field,” I mean Times Square. Go big or go home!
