Were you lucky enough to nab tickets to see Adele this month? Well, I’m very sorry to report that her upcoming 10-city US tour has been cancelled thanks to a vocal chord hemorrhage. “Singing is literally my life—it’s my hobbie, my love, my freedom and now my job,” Adele wrote, explaining her rationale for canceling her dates along the East Coast and in the South for the second time. “I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever … I have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously i take it and how truly devastated and annoyed i am by this.” [Gossip Cop]
So will Adele reschedule these dates? Or are we just out in the cold? We look to recent history for some answers. Keep reading »
When I heard that Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj were teaming up for the Femme Fatale tour, I envisioned a clash of egos from two of the biggest women in the game. And according to MediaTakeout.com, I was right. It happened … and it sounds awesome. Allegedly, after their San Jose show on Saturday, an all-out cat fight ensued after Britney marched into Nicki’s dressing room to confront her for going over her allotted stage time. Britney apparently let a 10 minute run-over slide at the Sacramento show, but was enraged after San Jose, when Nicki’s performance cut 45 minutes out of Britney’s hips, lips and hair routine. Followed by a gaggle of her male backup dancers, Britney supposedly charged into the Minaj camp screaming, head-rolling and snapping fingers as her dancers cosigned for her. I can almost hear it now. “Uh uh, girl, you MUST be crazy to think you can steal Brit-Brit’s shine.” Keep reading »
Britney Spears‘ Femme Fatale was a little bit of a letdown. The videos just weren’t what we’d hoped for and her live performances were oddly stiff. But BritBrit is heading on tour this summer and now that she has had more rehearsal time under her belt, perhaps she’ll redeem herself? Britney, at least, is super excited for the tour. In this video, which she posted on her website, she checks out the stage for the first time. “Yeah! Yeah,” she squeals. “I love it. Thank you!” I think it’s sweet how in awe she is here. And it does look pretty dope—especially with all that lightening imagery. Keep reading »
Yesterday on “Good Morning America,” Britney Spears announced that she would be going on tour this summer with Enrique Iglesias. A few hours later, however, Enrique’s people issued a statement saying that wasn’t the case due to “scheduling conflicts.” “Unfortunately, Enrique Iglesias and Britney Spears will not be touring together. Despite initial reports based on formal discussions of the possible run, Enrique will continue on his solo tour in support of his new album Euphoria,” his spokesperson said. “Enrique has great respect for Britney and is a longtime fan of her work. He is very sorry for the confusion this might have caused to anyone.” Hmmm, sounds like maybe her stilted dance moves scared him off.
But apparently, Britney has another possibility for a hot male co-star. Keep reading »
A Madonna and Lady Gaga double bill seems way too good to be true. But the word on the street, according to London tabloids and unnamed sources, is that the two pop music shapeshifters are coming together for a tour. Could this be true? Keep reading »
We were squealing in the office this morning to find out that two of our fave boy band outfits — New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys — will possibly going on tour together — creating some kind of all-powerful mega boy-band monster. The tour could start as soon as March 2011, and they might even produce a joint single to mark the occasion. Our minds are exploding at the sheer force of so much choreographed dancing and hair gel.
We’ve assembled some additional musical pairings we think need to hit the road together. Who would you like to see team up? Keep reading »
It was only a matter of time before people started trying to make money off of “Gossip Girl.” A New York City company that hosts “Sex and the City” bus tours has added a “Gossip Girl” outing to its offerings. For $40, you can visit the Palace Hotel, see the mansion where Lily and Bart got married, shop at Bendel’s, and get “spotted by that most ubiquitous blogger.” A complete list of locations isn’t included, but it doesn’t look like the tour visits Rufus’s Williamsburg gallery or Vanessa’s coffee shop. Just like on the show, Brooklyn gets marginalized. How authentic! [via Cityfile] Keep reading »
