Yeah, another Jay Z/Beyonce post — sorry not sorry! — but this one is necessary. Jayonce is about to embark on their coheadling “On The Run” tour so naturrrrraaaaaaalllly they had to do something big to promote it — like making an exhaustive trailer for a movie starring them that does not actually exist. Featuring cameos by super sexy bearded, man bun-sporting Jake Gyllenhaal, as well as Don Cheadle, Blake Lively, Rashida and Kidada Jones, “On The Run” is, as the trailer reminds us, COMING NEVER. But whyyyy? It looks better than most summer blockbusters.
Where Brooklyn at? No, literally, where Brooklyn at? Today, Beyonce and Jay Z officially announced their 16-date co-headlining “On The Run” tour, which kicks off in Miami on June 25, but my excitement was tempered by the realization that Jayonce would be skipping what I assumed would be a guaranteed stop — Brooklyn, New York, specifically at the Jay Z-owned Barclays Center. Instead, the closest show for us rabid followers of music’s King and Queen will be in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Wah. Anyway, this isn’t just about me and how the hell I can justify spending bank money on tickets for a show in another state. This is about you and how far you’ll have to run to see the “On The Run” tour. See all 16 stops after the jump! Pre-sale tickets go on sale tomorrow at 8 a.m.! [I Am Beyonce] Keep reading »
Morrissey: In with a bang, out with a whimper. The Boy With The Thorn In His Side has had to cancel the remaining dates on his North American tour, thanks to persistent health problems. According to his publicist, Mozzer is suffering from “double pneumonia, a bleeding ulcer and a gastrointestinal problem called Barrett’s esophagus.”
What is Barrett’s esophagus? It’s an abnormal change in the cells of the lower esophagus that can cause heartburn, trouble swallowing, vomiting, pain and weight loss. Ouch. Concert-goers can get show refunds at individual venues.
In all seriousness, we hope Moz feels better soon! [Reuters]
Guys, I don’t know about you, but when I think of Hanson, I think of the islands, naturally. So it makes sense that Hanson — you know, of the hit song “Mmm Bop” — would stage their 20th anniversary (!) celebration in Jamaica. For the low price of $2,999 (plus airfare) you get to spend five days with the band at the Breezes Resort in Negril, Jamaica. What you can expect from the Brothers Hanson, aside from epic amounts of rockin’ good times:
• Mix Jamaican drinks with Isaac
• Learn to cook Jamaican food with Taylor
• Enjoy a Tie-Dye Session with Zac
So, who’s signing up? [Hanson]
