What Do We Think Of TOMS Ballet Flats?

TOMS ballet flats photo

The most casual* shoe in the world just got even more casual. TOMS is branching out from their signature espadrille style to ballet flats for spring 2012. Pictures of TOMS’ new flats promise the same hippie ethos the company is known for: canvas-looking fabric and prints that look like they belong on a Deadhead’s dorm room tapestry. I think TOMS ballet flats are pretty cute, but not necessarily so different from the espadrilles that they warrant a change. What do readers think? Tell us in the comments! [SheFinds.com]

Breezy Slip-On TOMS

TOMS doesn’t just provide a pair of shoes for a child in need every time you purchase a pair; they also give you a laid-back look the instant you slip them on. Put on this pair if you want to test-drive summer’s nautical stripe without looking like a landlocked sailor. As an added bonus, the breathable burlap means your feet won’t sweat so much on hot days.

Cute New TOMS Charity Shoes

Do you like water, shoes, and looking good? If so, hot damn, have we got the shoes for you. Well, actually, TOMS has the shoes for you. Their new design collaboration with charity: water, a non-profit that builds clean wells in communities that need them, has turned up a couple pairs of rather adorable kicks. The blue pair is modeled to resemble waves, while the gray — our favorite! — is called The Map Shoe for obvious reasons. Both are made of sustainable materials and the proceeds go towards building a well. They’re $58 each and will be available exclusively at TOMS.com for a limited time. [Nitrolicious] Keep reading »

Charlize Theron Is Actually Kind Of A Good Shoe Designer

We’re just going to call it now. 2009 is officially the year of celebrity fashion collaborations. And Charlize Theron just made it into the design world at the last minute by teaming up with TOMS Shoes. But while many celebrities simply think they have the ability to cull fashion brilliance from their dramatic interiors, Charlize is using her style sense for a good cause, and given TOMS’ charitable aspect, the partnership really is quite perfect. Finally TOMS Shoes We Would Wear

Honestly, the heartwarming charity angle aside, there was something about TOMS shoes that looked decidedly … un-chic. Hence, while we’ve admired the shoes from afar, we’ve never seen a pair we wanted to sport around town. Until now. Behold: TOMS with laces, formally known as the Cordones. It’s a total departure from the traditional TOMS shoe, and while some might say it takes away all the charm, we disagree. (And we think dudes who had problems walking around in TOMS’ signature espadrilles are with us on this one.) They’re available now for between $69 and $78. Find them wherever TOMS are sold or online. Would You Wear Canvas Shoes To Your Wedding?

What if it was for a really good cause? Forget your dainty stilettos, satin-covered pumps or even blue suede shoes, because if TOMS founder (and super hottie) Blake Mycoskie has his way, the shoe of choice for blushing brides will be a pair of canvas slip-ons. The charitable company, which donates shoes to needy children with every purchase, is encouraging brides and grooms to outfit their entire party with their footwear, and they’re sweetening the deal by offering a group discount. Interested brides and singles alike should check out the special page they’ve created for details. Honestly, it shouldn’t even take that much convincing. Anything besides making people wear Crocs for your wedding (remember that trend?) is fine by us. Plus, think of all the good karma your marriage will reap! [Racked] Keep reading »

Crave: Toms Glitter Slip-Ons

All that glitters is…Toms? Toms, the manufacturer of those ultra-preppy kicks inspired by traditional Argentinean utility shoes, just put a twinkle in our eye with its shiny new model. The shoes now come in silver and gold glitter, but still have the traditional espadrille sole. Swap them for your dressy heels while the weather is still warm, and fashion is still casual.
