Tina Fey, Amy Poehler & Rachel Dratch Reunite At The “Jersey Shore”

Last night on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” Tina Fey and Amy Poehler joined Jimmy in a “Jersey Shore” spoof. Both of the ladies looked pretty hot with their mega-extensions and bustiers as they rolled into a club and started dancing with the guys. Tina’s opening line? “I wanna make babies wit’ you.” But the best was when Rachel Dratch, aka “Drootchie,” appeared and they had a threeway girlfight. Sure, maybe the spoof is a little late to the party, but I still loved it. [PopEater] Keep reading »

Miss Bossypants Herself To Host “SNL” This Weekend

Woo-hoo! Tina Fey is returning to her old stomping grounds, “Saturday Night Live,” this weekend. She will be hosting while Ellie Goulding, aka the chickadee who played the royal wedding, does the musical guest thing. “SNL” promos are never quite as funny as I want them to be, but still—just had to share these because we love Tina that much. Tina Fey’s Feelings On Fashion

“A wise friend once told me, ‘Don’t wear what fashion designers tell you to wear. Wear what they wear.’ His point being that most designers, no matter what they throw onto the runway, favor simple, flattering pieces for themselves. Anyone who has never met me can tell you that fashion has always been very very very very very very very important to me. For example, I once told my cousin that my dream would be ‘if the whole store Express was my closet!’ How prescient, because now, of course, I wear nothing but Express. It can’t be said enough. Don’t concern yourself with fashion; stick to simple pieces that flatter your body type … By 19, I had found my look. Oversize T-shirts, bike shorts, and wrestling shoes. To prevent the silhouette from being too baggy, I would cinch it at the waist with my fanny pack. I was pretty sure I would wear this look forever. The shirts allowed me express myself with cool sayings like ‘There’s No Crying in Baseball’ and ‘Universität Heidelberg,’ the bike shorts showed off my muscular legs, and the fanny pack held all my trolley tokens. I was nailing it on a daily basis. Find something like this for yourself as soon as possible.”

– The incomparable Tina Fey on her fashion philosophy, as expressed in her new memoir Bossypants. Keep reading »

Tina Fey Sticks Up For Olivia Munn & Answers The Question, “Is Liz Lemon Ugly?”

GQ: Lady blogs like Jezebel exploded after the episode with the Liz-hires-a-feminist-comic thing. It sure seemed like you were commenting on the outrage when Olivia Munn — hot lady, not necessarily hot comic — was hired on “The Daily Show.”

Tina Fey: I was actually really pleased that Jezebel got that it was about the whole Olivia thing, because the treatment of Olivia was weird on that site. She just kept getting reamed! And it was this weird mix. They would go after her, and then the next thing would be like, “Defending the Rights of Sex Workers.” And I was just like, “Well, why can’t we just say Olivia’s a sex worker? Leave her alone!”

— Tina Fey in GQ talking about the “30 Rock” episode “Joan Of Snark,” which addressed the way ladyblogs like Jezebel (and, to be fair, The Frisky) have criticized “The Daily Show”‘s Olivia Munn. Some would say Olivia leads with the “hot piece of ass” angle, but not Tina Fey.

After the jump, Tina gamely answered GQ‘s question, “Is Liz Lemon ugly?” Keep reading »

Tina Fey’s Daughter Alice Writes Tracy Morgan’s Lines

I knew Tina Fey‘s five-year-old daughter Alice had badass swagger. But I didn’t know she writes Tracy Morgan’s lines! While promoting her memoir Bossypants on “Conan,” Tina revealed that the weird things that come out of Tracy Jordan‘s mouth on “30 Rock” were often the cute things that came out of Alice’s mouth first. I guess next season we can look forward to Tracy saying, “You know, the most romantic part of the human body is the butt.” [Team Coco via Huffington Post] Keep reading »

Swaggering Alice Fey: A Meme We Approve Of

Alice Fey, the spirited daughter of Tina Fey, became an overnight meme sensation when the world caught wind of her swagger. Approved. I look forward to the forthcoming Tumblr blog, F-Yeah Swaggering Alice, if it doesn’t exist already. Good work on the offspring, Tina. Keep ‘em coming. Oh wait, you are. I have renewed hope for the next generation. [Urlesque] Keep reading »

Today’s Lady News: Tina Fey & Jane Curtain Talk Sexism At “Saturday Night Live”

  • Oprah Winfrey invited the lovely Tina Fey, Jane Curtain, Tracy Morgan, Dana Carvey and Chevy Chase as guests for a show about “Saturday Night Live.” It turns out that John Belushi was a sexist jerk, his former co-star Jane Curtain revealed. “[Belushi] said, ‘Women are just fundamentally not funny,’” Curtain recalled. “He felt as though it was his duty to sabotage pieces that were written by women.” Wow, I never thought an episode of “Oprah” would make me feel stabby. • I can’t even begin to describe the stupidity you will witness if you click this link, but I will tell you it involves Glenn Beck, Planned Parenthood, and the word “hookers.” You’ve been warned. [Huffington Post]
  • The American Library Association’s list of the top 10 most challenged books of 2010 is out and nearly all were written by women! Bristol Palin Was This Close To Being Tina Fey’s Baby Sitter

“I can’t imagine Bristol would have been too psyched to [babysit] anyway; it was her 18th birthday, she was in New York City, and I had made a vicious joke about her a week earlier. But I appreciated the mom-ness of Mrs. Palin’s offer … I thanked her, saying Alice was too little to stay for the show.”

Tina Fey shares in her new book, Bossypants, that when Sarah Palin appeared on “SNL” in 2008, she offered up daughter Bristol Palin to babysit for Tina’s daughter, Alice, on set. This was, err, while Tina was doing her famous impersonation of her. The fact that she would still offer that is almost enough to make me like Sarah Palin. For a minute, anyway. Tina Fey Panicked Over Whether To Have A Second Child

tina fey

“I went for my annual checkup and, tired of carrying this anxiety around, burst into tears the moment [my doctor] said hello. I laid it all out for her, and the main thing I took away from our conversation was the kind of simple observation that only an impartial third party can provide: ‘Either way, everything will be fine.’”

Tina Fey shares that the decision on whether to have a second baby was definitely not an easy one for her and that she felt a lot of stress in wanting to both give her daughter Alice a sibling while she could and spend her time and energy on her show, which employs hundreds of people. Tina Fey Is Pregnant!

Tina Fey is pregnant! Yesterday, while promoting her new memoir Bossypants on “Oprah,” Tina Fey announced she is five months pregnant. The 40-year-old and her husband, Jeff Richmond, a composer for “30 Rock,” already have a five-year-old daughter, Alice. Damn, I am so irrationally excited about this and I’m not a woman who usually cares about what’s going on in a celeb’s uterus. Who else is psyched for the growing army of mini-Tina Feys that she is producing? BWAHAHAHA! I can’t wait to see how her pregnancy gets incorporated into a Liz Lemon storyline on “30 Rock.” Mazel tov, Tina! [People] Keep reading »
