Gather ’round, nerds: (Amelia, that means you!) Tim Gunn sat down with the web series Crazy Sexy Geeks for a trés serious critique of “Star Trek” fashion. It’s still interesting even if, like me, you could care less about “Star Trek” because the host is a fountain of information about the costuming decisions for the “Star Trek,” especially when it came to dressing the women to appear more “sexy” out in space.
Oh, and there’s some really obvious space-peen. That never hurts. [The Mary Sue]

What happens when you put together style guru Tim Gunn with super trainer Harley Pasternak and carpenter extraordinaire Ty Pennington? Why, it sure sounds like ABC is creating a male version of “The View” with their new show, “The Revolution,” which will star these three guys as co-hosts. As the network explains in a recent press release about the casting, “Our goal is to include inspiring and informative motivators as we build ‘The Revolution’ team and continue to evolve our lineup with the type of lifestyle programming that daytime viewers are interested in seeing.” All they need now is a famous older newscaster to steer this talk show ship—maybe Larry King?— and the formula will be complete. Just as “America’s Next Top Model” is returning this fall with a season of “all stars” (read: also-rans who didn’t win), “Project Runway” is also pulling out its past losers for an all star season, featuring past season runner-ups who are angling for a second chance at top prize. The difference? The all-star show won’t feature any of the “Proj Run” team we’ve come to know and love/loathe. No Michael Kors or Nina Garcia, noi Gunn(!) and no Heidi Klum. Instead, Sports Illustrated model Angela Lindvall will play Heidi’s part and Isaac Mizrahi and Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman will handle judging duties.
So who’s actually going to be competing on the all-star season? Keep reading »
“There’s a girl who learned how to sew just four months before coming on the show … [And Tim Gunn will be running] well, I just wanted to see him run … it was very entertaining to say the least!”
— “Project Runway host Heidi Klum on the show’s upcoming season, and her wily way of manipulating the incomparable Tim Gunn into doing very un-Tim-Gunn-like things this season. [Fashionista] Keep reading »
“Why did the villain win? Why? I could not believe it. Gretchen’s talented, and she’s not a horrible person. But was she the winner of the season? I don’t think so. The ‘Project Runway’ designers are like my kids. I love them all. I will say I love some more than others. And there’s some I wish I’d left in a basket.”
— Tim Gunn is still blabbing that it was wack that backstabbing Gretchen Jones won over sweet little Mondo Guerra on the most recent season of “Project Runway.” I’m glad he agrees the uber-talented Mondo totally got the shaft.
After the jump, Tim talks some smack about Michael Kors, on whom he blames Gretchen’s puzzling win: Keep reading »

host Tim Gunn is pretty much our gay spirit dad — and what he says goes. Especially when it comes to the debatable denim-vention, The Jegging. In this clip from “Conan,” Conan O’Brien comes out on Team Jeggings while Tim is (rightfully) on the jeggings fence. And don’t even get them started on skinny jeans. Where do you stand on the jeggings phenomenon? Fab or fail? [TBS

Well, this is interesting. In the video above, Tim Gunn
is asked what he thought about the “Project Runway”
finale, in which Gretchen was awarded the top prize. Tim explains that host Heidi Klum
asked him who he thought should win and he agreed with her that Mondo was the best choice, but that Heidi couldn’t get Nina Garcia or Michael Kors to budge. In the end, Tim agreed with some random woman in a deli, who told him that Mondo would succeed no matter what, while Gretchen needed the money. And that, my friends, will go down as the real reason Gretchen, who everyone hated for her attitude and hippie dippie designs (except me
), won “Project Runway.” Keep reading »
Full disclosure: we’re crazy for Tim Gunn. But some are beginning to question his recent open attitude towards the fashion industry. The scandal gained momentum after the release of Gunn’s book in which he unapologetically called out Anna Wintour‘s behavior, and repeatedly referenced her ridiculousness in his many press appearances for the book. And he hasn’t stopped there. Gunn has given his candid opinion about tons of celebs, including Taylor Momsen and Lindsay Lohan. In the latest Gunn drama, the “Project Runway” judge posted a video to Facebook that was highly critical of the show’s latest episode. He later removed it, but not, he says, because the show’s producers were upset. Keep reading »
