Deep Throat Method Of Detecting Cheaters

If your man has a lower, deeper voice pitch, he’s more likely to have more sexual partners … and babies. That’s what researchers who study the science of cheating say, at least.

On the surface, you probably think, “Well, yeah, a guy with a deeper voice is just sexier, seems more confident, etc.” so it’s possible he’s got more game. (But not necessarily.) It’s also possible he’s more likely to be unfaithful. (Again, not necessarily.)

But the infidelity researchers say, “Yes, necessarily!” They had college students listen to recordings of male and female voices that were digitally raised and lowered. Women deemed men with the lowest-pitched voices most likely to cheat — and the most attractive. The same held true for the guys who listened to high-pitched women’s voices. Read more… Keep reading »

8 Embarrassing Valentine’s Gifts You Don’t Want At Work

Ah, Valentine’s Day. For some it’s a day of love and affection, for others a cruel reminder of their single status or another “Hallmark holiday.” That’s why most of us prefer to keep our Valentines subtle. Red roses at work? Romantic. Giant teddy bear the size of a small state? Not so much.

Admittedly, I am possibly the only person on the planet who will openly admit to loving the holiday so many others love to despise. It’s cheesy, yes. For many, it’s yet another reminder that they need a table for one in a world of two-seaters. Even so, there are things even I would rather not receive in public.

Like a singing telegram. From a man dressed as Cupid. In a diaper.

Here are some more embarrassing gifts we want you to give us in private. Read more… Keep reading »

There’s A Cow In My Freezer: Think I Need A Shrink?

Hi, my name is Amy, and I’m a freezer hoarder. It all started about eight years ago, when we bought a house and a nice big fridge to go with it. At first it was innocent: Some extra bagels, homemade granola, some nuts I didn’t want to go bad.

Then I started saving little bits of things: bags of vegetables with not quite a full serving in them, canned chipotle peppers that I used just one of for a certain recipe, Parmesan rinds for soup, vegetable scraps, and chicken bones for stock. How many times have I made stock? Once.

How To Tell If He’s Cheating

The most important trick to not getting cheated on by your man is knowing how to spot potential cheaters from the outset. This is not always easy. But there are a few characteristics many cheaters display.

There are 12 ways to spot a cheat, but I warn you, if you’re anything like me, you will see yourself (and the one you love) in them. Never fear. The reality is, we have to trust our own instinct with this stuff. No simple list will affirm our worries or assure us that we aren’t with a “cheater.” Anyone can cheat in the right circumstances or stay faithful given the same.

Nevertheless, here are the 12 ways. Read more Keep reading »

The 30-Day Sex Challenge

My husband and I aren’t that bad, but with two children under four, two demanding careers, a dog, a cat, two cars, and a house to keep up, it can often seem like sex is the last thing either of us wants to do. Time for a challenge, no?

Why Am I Such A Jerk To My Husband?

While discussing my New Year’s resolutions, I flippantly threw out that I was going to try to be less of a sarcastic jerk when talking to my husband — you know, for the sake of my kids.

Yes, it’s true. I have caught my boys — even the 4-year-old — using some of my own special brand of sarcastic quips or passive-aggressive phrasings, and it has made me wince. Deeply. Read more Keep reading »
