I guess when you are middling famous you pretty much get to do anything that you want. Even if you are, say, Mischa Barton, who was last relevant some five years ago. I mean, it makes sense: I just found out that 50 Cent got to star in a movie with Robert DeNiro, which is equally as implausible as Mischa Barton having her own line of lip gloss. Because why? Who said, “You know, I’d really like to commemorate my fave lanky pseudo-lesbian from ‘The O.C.’ Marissa Cooper with her very own line of lip crap?”
Nobody. But alas, the Mischa Barton lip gloss empire was still birthed. Keep reading »
Remember when Mischa Barton thought she was too good for “The O.C.” and left the show in order to pursue a movie career? Well, Mischa Barton movie star never materialized. In fact, the only noteworthy thing Mischa has achieved is her D.U.I. arrest in 2007. Okay, I’ll be fair and mention her fugly headband collection for Stacey Lapidus. Oh, and she hosted Blackbook‘s Hollywood party last night. Now, Mischa is returning to her TV roots by taking on the role of Sonja on “A Beautiful Life,” an upcoming CW drama about male and female models living together in New York City. Sonja is a veteran supermodel struggling to stay on top in the high fashion world, so she and Mischa have a lot in common. But Mischa isn’t the only “O.C.” alum who is struggling after leaving the show. Keep reading »
Yesterday, on “All My Children,” Reese and Bianca got married, creating a milestone in matrimony. The first lesbian wedding on daytime TV was a real Kleenex-fest! With enough tears of joy to float everyone’s boat, the whole affair was a beautiful spectacle and a timely push for equal rights, in light of the struggle to stop Prop 8. But dang girls, you just got hitched — we could have used some more hot action to go with those warm fuzzies! And the same sex lovin’ is headed from daytime to primetime — supposedly Eva Longoria and Teri Hatcher are slated to suck face on this season of “Desperate Housewives.” It’s hard to imagine that this peck on “L.A. Law” caused such a scandal back in 1991! I’ve put a thermometer in my mouth with more passion. Anyway, all these awesome story lines combined are a clear sign that the times, well they are a changin’. So now that we’re feeling the love, here are our favorite scenes of lesbian lovin’ on TV… Keep reading »
“Gossip Girl” and “The OC” creator Josh Schwartz has been working on another new series that you will certainly become addicted to, but it’s going to air on a smaller screen than his other shows. “Rockville, CA” premieres March 17 on TheWB.com with 20 scheduled episodes averaging four minutes each. The web series, which Schwartz is working on with his shows’ music supervisor, Alexandra Patsavas, is about twentysomethings in the indie music world. Much of the web series was filmed at Los Angeles music venue Passion Pit, and Lykke Li making appearances. We already watch a bunch of TV shows online, so we’re totally down with spending an four extra minutes on our computer, especially if it’s gonna fill us on on who’s the indie band of the moment.
