Well, I just about peed myself from excitement. Finally, a scene from the upcoming OMG-whyyyyy-isn’t-it-out-yet movie, “The Hunger Games,” has been released on the web and it is exactly the way I pictured things when I was reading the book. In the scene, Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, is presenting her bow-and-arrow skills to a group of distracted judges — so she gets their attention in an aggressive and brave way. Check it out above. March 23 cannot get here soon enough. [MTV.com]

Are you ready for a sadz? Taylor Swift released a song she’s contributed to “The Hunger Games” soundtrack. “Safe and Sound” is a lovely, melancholy one. I love Taylor on her own, but the backup vocals from The Civil Wars elevate this song from good to great. What say you? [The Hollywood Reporter] Keep reading »

Let the games begin! I am a huge fan of The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins young adult book series, so imagine my excitement at finally getting a sneak peek at the first film during last night’s VMAs. Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen in the film, introduced the clip, my palms started to sweat, and then … this was it? I know they’re slowing starting to build anticipation, but this “teaser” was barely a tickle. Meh. [Huffington Post] Keep reading »
Entertainment Weekly readers are starving for “The Hunger Games.” And so this week’s cover features Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, who will play Gale and Peeta in the flick. Last time we saw Hutcherson, he was a little scrawny in “The Kids Are All Right.” He did hardcore training and put on 15 pounds of muscle in order to look like a guy who’s been carting flour and other supplies his whole life. And while they are rivals on screen, these two guys became fast friends on set. ”I think it’s going to blow people’s minds when they see that Peeta and Gale are actually best friends in real life,” says Hutcherson. This weekend, I finished Mockingjay, the third and final book in The Hunger Games trilogy. I had to put the book down multiple times so I could cry and then, at the end, I cried again because it was all over and I couldn’t go back in time to when I hadn’t read them yet and start all over. What a great series. Seriously, if you haven’t read them, DO, and before the movie version of the first book comes out.
Speaking of, casting decisions for the film are readily being made…
