“The Bling Ring” has already been in theaters for a couple of weeks now, and I am thoroughly embarrassed to admit that I’ve yet to see it. It’s not for lack of wanting to see it — I’ve been waiting on this film for, like, actual human years — but because the majority (75 percent, in fact) of my preferred moviegoing partners are not in the same time zone as me at the moment, let alone area code. And also, maybe just a LITTLE, because I live in great fear of finding myself disappointed by the film based off one of my favorite True Hollywood Stories of all time, not to mention the most transfixing shitshow of a reality TV series to ever hit E! (which, obviously, is really saying something). But I have a bit more confidence in the handling of the stranger-than-fiction tale knowing that Nicki Moore, the character based off of “Pretty Wild” star Alexis Neiers, is in the very capable hands of Emma Watson, who went so Method as to create a Tumblr for the role. As in, a Tumblr from the perspective of Nicki Moore, as penned by Emma Watson… and man, oh man, does Emma hit all the bases. From shoddy cityscape camera phone photos to a touching tribute to Lindsay Lohan and her “spirituality,” NickiMooreForever2012 is pretty much on point. [Crushable]
When thinking about the list of celebrities to play me in a movie of my own life, Emma Watson is pretty close to the top of my list. Apparently Alexis Neiers — one of the inspirations behind the new film “The Bling Ring,” directed by Sofia Coppola — does not feel the same way. The bratty former reality star vows to shed light on the truth about “The Bling Ring,” both the movie and the original Vanity Fair article by Nancy Jo Sales, in her upcoming book. Keep reading »
I’m not even a Sofia Coppola superfan, but I’m still anxiously awaiting parking my mall-jean-clad butt in a theater seat to watch “The Bling Ring” about the Hollywood teenagers who broke into celebrities’ homes and steal their Acne jean. Maybe it’s because Coppola actually filmed inside Paris Hilton’s weird home with pictures of herself all over the place? Or maybe because it stars Emma Watson pole dancing in stripper heels and Taissa Farmiga, the girl from “American Horror Story” season one? Or because Leslie Mann made a vision board of Angelina Jolie’s life? Gahhh, this is going to be amazing. [YouTube]
The Bling Ring – the gang of teenagers who famously stole from the homes of Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox and Paris Hilton and now is being forever immortalized in a Sofia Coppola movie – not only wanted to rob celebrities of their fancy jewels but also their unmentionables too.
According to Nancy Jo Sales, the journalist who famously interviewed the ring members, the burglars were obsessed with stealing the stars’ lingerie.
“They wanted to look sexy. Looking sexy in a celebrity’s clothes, well that’s even sexier,” Sales told Vanity Fair. Read more on Celebuzz…
BLAAAAANG RAAAAAANG. Sorry, what? I just can’t contain my excitement about the new Sofia Coppola movie, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival today. Tonight? Time zones, whatever! Emma Watson stars as Nikki, the role based off of real-life ringleader Alexis Neiers. (Unfamiliar with Alexis? Allow me to point you in the direction of the undisputed best moment in reality TV history.) Emma wore this super-cute Christopher Kane mini to the film’s photocall, and it is safe to say that she looks neither like Hermione Granger nor her “Bling Ring” character. She does, however, look fantastic.
Time for your Adderall, everyone! The full theatrical trailer for Sofia Coppola’s “The Bling Ring,” starring Emma Watson, has arrived! This. Looks. Stupid. Goooooood.
We got a peek of Emma Watson pole dancing in the teaser trailer for “The Bling Ring,” Sofia Coppola’s new movie about the Los Angeles teens, lead by reality star Alexis Neiers, who broke into the homes of celebs like Paris Hilton to steal their fancy toys. We really required more in-depth visuals to truly assess Emma’s pole skills and the Internet has gifted us with a new “Bling Ring” clip today. Good to know if that whole Brown University thing doesn’t work out — or her “Harry Potter” money dries up — Emma Watson’s got a career waiting for her on the pole. [Huffington Post]
