The Bling Ring’s Top Priority: Stealing Miranda Kerr, Paris Hilton’s Underwear

The Bling Ring – the gang of teenagers who famously stole from the homes of Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox and Paris Hilton and now is being forever immortalized in a Sofia Coppola movie – not only wanted to rob celebrities of their fancy jewels but also their unmentionables too.

According to Nancy Jo Sales, the journalist who famously interviewed the ring members, the burglars were obsessed with stealing the stars’ lingerie.

“They wanted to look sexy. Looking sexy in a celebrity’s clothes, well that’s even sexier,” Sales told Vanity Fair. Read more on Celebuzz…

BLAAAAANG RAAAAAANG. Sorry, what? I just can’t contain my excitement about the new Sofia Coppola movie, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival today. Tonight? Time zones, whatever! Emma Watson stars as Nikki, the role based off of real-life ringleader Alexis Neiers. (Unfamiliar with Alexis? Allow me to point you in the direction of the undisputed best moment in reality TV history.) Emma wore this super-cute Christopher Kane mini to the film’s photocall, and it is safe to say that she looks neither like Hermione Granger nor her “Bling Ring” character. She does, however, look fantastic.

Someone up there must be looking out for me, because there are so many amazing movies about teenagers behaving badly in my future! As if I wasn’t already psyched enough about “Spring Breakers” hitting theaters on the 22nd, the first teaser trailer for “The Bling Ring,” the Sofia Coppola-directed film based on the true tale of a band of wealthy, fame-hungry L.A. teenagers who robbed multiple celebrity residences back in 2009, came out on Friday. Naturally, it is 56 seconds of pure dark, sleazy bliss. The movie looks completely, outlandishly ridiculous, and I am so in. God, I love watching Hermione get all slutty! [YouTube]

“The Bling Ring” has sounded promising since news first relayed that Sofia Coppola would be adapting the story for the silver screen. It goes something like this: a band of spoiled, fame-obsessed Hollywood teenagers break into the homes of stars like Orlando Bloom and Paris Hilton. It’s a startling (and, as you’ll recall, true) tale of celebrity, greed, and youth in the age of the Internet, which the teens used to track down the whereabouts of their high-profile victims. The first photo of the cast hit the web this week via Entertainment Weekly, and I must say, they’ve styled the naughty mid-aughties kids to a T: Emma Watson looks every bit the young, wealthy heathen, replete with a fur vest and, naturally, the requisite how-old-are-you-why-do-you-have-that Birkin bag. The rest of the cast is spot-on, too: attractive, expensively-dressed, big iced coffees, no-soul-behind-my-Dior-sunglasses stares … yeah, I’m really looking forward to this movie. It’s too bad it won’t be in theaters until next year. [Crushable]
