Please make this “Wire”-inspired mockup of Monopoly a reality. I need it. I need it the way Bubbles needs smack. Speaking of which, I would also like to humbly suggest the addition of Omar Little, Stringer Bell, Marlo Stanfield, Avon Barksdale, and Prop Joe game pieces. (I promise not to make the Omar and Stringer game pieces make out.) Anyway, can you get started on this soon? I would like it for Christmas. Please don’t make me bust a cap in your ass.

Get Wired

This past weekend, as I was conducting an experiment to find out how many hours I could spend on my couch before developing sofa sores, I finally decided to watch a show called “The Wire.” Perhaps you’ve heard of it. The critically acclaimed show aired on HBO for five seasons and ended its run in early 2008. Better late than never! Ten episodes into season one, it is my new obsession and I want, nay, need, the full series on DVD so there is absolutely no lull as I make my way through the rest of the episodes. Omar, Bubbles, and Stringer Bell might miss me.

The Not-So Secret Life Of Tristan Wilds

I first noticed Tristan Wilds when he starred in “The Wire” as Michael Lee. He was one cold-blooded drug dealer and killer on the hit HBO show, but he also had a soft spot for his younger brother and friend Dookie. Most recently, Tristan has been showing more of his soft side and sexy side on “90210.” I can’t wait to catch him as Zach Taylor in “The Secret Life of Bees,” a Civil Rights era film based on the novel of the same name. And now that I know he has a really great voice, I’m really excited to hear his debut album, which he is currently working on. Talented, sexy, smart and musical…I think I’m in love! Keep reading »

The Daily Hotness: Idris Elba

Idris Elba is probably most famous for his role as “Stringer” Bell on HBO’s The Wire. I remember wanting more after watching a really brief intimate scene with this Brit and an actress on that show, but the producers didn’t answer my prayers. I’m hoping Obsessed, which he stars in opposite Beyonce in 2009, will satisfy my hunger to see his chiseled, well-oiled physique. I guess it’s only fair to mention that besides being a kick-ass television and theater actor, Idris is also a DJ under the moniker DJ Big Driis/Big Driis the Londoner, and a hip-hop soul recording artist.
