What is Jack White up to now that The White Stripes have hung up their black, white, and red gear? He is trying to rectify the fact that, as explained in this video, “97 percent of high school aged kids have NEVER been to a standalone record store. Never.” And so Jack has devised the Rolling Record Store, which comes stocked with records from his label, Third Man. Jack will take the store on the road from his home in Nashville to Austin for South by Southwest next week. Very cool. My only question is—yellow? What has happened to you, Jack? I get sad when a celebrity couple who seemed so perfect together breaks up. Not that Jack and Meg White of The White Stripes were a couple—well, they were married, though before they became a band—but they sure did make sweet music together. It’s clear that Jack and Meg White had drifted apart considering that their last album came out in 2007 and that their last major appearance together was in 2009. There’s only one man who looks better than James Bond in a tux: Jack White. In the video he recorded alongside duet partner Alicia Keys — for the upcoming new Bond film (“Quantum Of Solace”) — the sonic stallion struts around in black and white with his bow-tie undone. The band leader of The White Stripes and The Raconteurs knows how to open up a guitar and his top button. Check White, Jack White, out in the video for the flick’s theme song, “Another Way To Die”. Oh yeah, and Keys looks pretty hot too.
